Learned the $7 lesson on my new STI Eagle by dry firing on a dummy round with no primer. The slide was very difficult to rack back to eject the round. Once I did I noticed the firing pin was stuck. I removed it to find a slight bend towards the end. Did some quick reseach here on the issue. Lesson learned I tought. So I ordered a new STI replacement. It came in today. I take it out of the package and find it has almost the exact same bend in it? Brand new. What are the odds of that?

This will probably come off as a real stupid question, but I am a 2011 newbie. Is the firing pin on a 2011 supposed to be perfectly straight or does it have a slight bend in the last 1/3?

For those of you that run a 2011 in IDPA and have fit a magwell to it, make mags do you use? I didn't think you could run extended mags in IDPA and it seems like the regular mag would be too short and be "recessed" up in the magwell. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know the weight of the recoil spring on the new 5.25?

I ended up cutting mine down 3/4". I made a straight cut on my radial arm saw and it worked really well. I did have to grind on the pad to fit. It was slightly too wide and too long due to the stock tappering down.

I have been shooting IDPA for a few years but am just starting into 3 gun. I bought a new FN SLP Mk1 to play with . The problem is I have short arms and would really like to shorten the stock. I can't seem to find any aftermarket stocks yet. Any suggestions?
