  1. I have run several hundred cast lead bullets of various makers with no real issues. It likes the rounds with normal OAL and the only issue I had was when I took some long loaded rounds that were intended for my 2011's to the range one day  i.e. my bad

  2. Definately post it here or on an auction site.... and keep your fingers crossed. Here in Fort Worth at the Gun Show I picked up a TS in 40 last year in great shape, 3 mags, for less than $700... good luck on my part, but...

  3. The TS has a great feel in my hands... and like in a lot of sports (golf) the feedback is important to how you shoot. I have a TS in 40 in addition to a SVI full dust cover and a 5"STI Eagle. Like them all, but am starting to shoot better with the TS.

If you like the feel of the TS GO WITH IT!!!! It will not be the thing that holds you back

  4. Repetition.... repeat as necessary.... you will be able to find a happy place with it

It takes time to control the nerves for what ever you do. Practice dry firing and concentrate on your breathing during it.. that may help. COncentrate on the course of fire and breathing before you start and not on yourself.

Also, think about your diet before a match. Be careful about caffeine and make sure you eat before the match (the right amount not overindulge) to keep the blood sugar in balance.

  5. Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of good folks and info here.

Read through the CZ and EAA subforums here. Go back through them and see what has already been chewed over. Both companies put out good weapons (I have two CZs and 1 EAA) always remember that a few issues can crop up and those that are upset tend to be more vocal than those that have no problems.

It is always good to at least hold the pistol you are looking at to see how it feels. If not possible, do your research, set back and pull the trigger. Also, keep an eye on the Classified section as a few deals due crop up... and tend to get picked up quickly...

  6. Dane Burns is the one pistol smith I have seen that has done a lot of them. I have never seen his work first hand though. His website used to have a lot of good info on the round. burnscustom.com and click on the links

  7. The name that shall not be spoken! Yeah, I had forgotten about those threads too. I understand that there are histories and back stories that I do not need to know the specifics of... but it always confused me....

How do you learn the name that shall not be spoken if no one ever speaks it? Just go along your way and then mention a person or retailer and get beaten up over it??? I am on different forums to learn and occasionally help others. I will have different experiences with individuals .. so ..

  8. As above, stay away from the Mouse fart loads, keep it lubed.... and lift some weights so that you can carry the bugger :roflol: I love mine, but it starts to feel like a boat anchor at times.

  9. I think I went through a shell retaining spring about every thousand rounds or so initially so definately get extras. Keep an eye on the timing and adjust the pawls as needed (early on), make sure the shell plate retaining bolt stays tight and .... KEEP IT CLEAN! Powder that drops around tends to muck up everything (and seems to want to jump out of cases at times if you do not have a smooth pull).

  10. I seem to recall the developer of this safe idea called in about last year on the Guntalk radio show (hosted by TOm Gresham) last year. Thought it was a neat idea for those that have limited space. Would make a good second safe for those of us who have collected a few too many as you could put the 'collectibles' in it and keep the working guns in another upright safe....

Of course, I am not too that 'too many' point yet ;)

  11. As an aside, Mesh size is how many holes there are per inch in the metal mesh the material goes through. Therefore, a 20 Mesh material will be a little less than 1/20 of an inch (20 holes in an inch plus some area covered by the screen wire.)

You start getting towards 30 and 40 mesh you are getting fairly small on the corn cob. It will work, but will be tougher to separate from the cases later.... and may dust a little more.
