  1. Hi. I usually use factory ammunition for my .40 Cal STI Edge. I get regular misfeeds, with a round left nudged against the ramp. I have eliminated (hopefully) all other possible problems. A friend who uses VTH N350 has suggested that I try some reloads that are loaded long to 1.200 at my next competition abroad. He has only N350, and I can not find loading data for this powder to IPSC major with 180 Gr FMJ at 1.200. Can anyone help with some data? Thanks, Tom.
  2. War cant get much uglier than this. by Wilfred Owen, WWI poet DULCE ET DECORUM EST PRO PATRIA MORI (it is sweet and fitting to die for your country.) Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs And towards our distant rest began to trudge. Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind; Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind. - Gas! GAS! Quick, boys! An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time; But someone still was yelling out and stumbling, And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime . . . Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light, As under a green sea, I saw him drowning. In all my dreams, before my helpless sight, He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning. If in some smothering dreams you too could pace Behind the wagon that we flung him in, And watch the white eyes writhing in his face, His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin; If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs, Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues - My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori.* *"It is sweet and meet (fitting) to die for one's country
  3. Joe4d, D__, CenTX, thanks for the advice, appreciated. Tom. Ireland.
  4. Hello from Ireland. I hope someone can help me with an answer to my problem with Rescomp .40 Hi Cap Mags with Dawson International Base pads. Springs and followers are Grams. The mags were previously used with a plastic base pad, no mag base plate required. The manufacturer is unknown, but a pin on one side slid out to remove the pad. Gun is used in IPSC Standard Division. I recently changed to Dawson International Base pads. These aluminium base pads slide onto the magazine, and no pins are on them to affix or remove. When I need to clean the magazines, I find that the bottom of the mag spring is getting caught and dragged in the base pad making it almost impossible to remove the pad. This is not the best situation if I need to clean the mag or mags in between stages. Should / can a base plate be used with this combination, or has someone any advice to offer? Tom.
