  1. Well I have really hard time lately to find balance between smooth and fast. Because when I feel smooth I am very slow at running from A to B, but when I try to be fast at running I am loosing a lot of smoothness, if you understand me. I just need to learn how to shift from smooth to fast modus and vice versa. I've made a lot of progress in one year and now I feel that this holds me back the most in my performance.

  2. We'll see, not out of the question it can happen. I have been asked by Tanfoglio to send samples of my parts. And I'm going to visit with the owner at the factory in Italy in June. So then we'll know. Either way it's no big deal for me if they don't buy my parts. But it could bring the prices down as my cost would go down when I can make larger batches. And of course a great recognition of the quality of my parts.

    Finally some great news!

  3. Update: I've talked with Barbara Tanfoglio on IWA about supporting Henning parts as factory options but no luck, because she is not familiar with Henning contribution to Tanfoglio. She said they really like customers feedback as a small firm but apparently not on every topic.

  4. I've came to some conclusions but have to practice more to confirm that. My whole grip was to tense, so I've try with more relaxed grip, but ran on new trouble. When I was trying with more relaxed grip I've relaxed it too much and a gun started jumping a lot and didn't return back after first shot. So in my opinion I have to grip the gun quite hard and lock the wrists, but keep elbows and shoulders relaxed. I think that is the most efficient technique for me, because when I am doing that right I can shoot more comfortable (despite gun jumping a bit more) which leads me to more fluid shooting and faster transitions.

I'll post some video after Saturday match.

  5. P.S. I've done search function, but no results for my situation so I apologize if topic already exists.

Low left is common. Aslo search for flinch.

You should examine if your finger is pushing on the side of the trigger or not on the second shot.

If not, then it is a common flinch.

Ask yourself if you might be gripping the gun harder to help control it so that you can get a quick second shot...does that sound like you at all?

Yes I asked myself if I am pulling gripping to much with left hand to help control recoil, and answer should be yes. I'll tested theory tomorrow on shooting range with more relaxed grip.

  6. Is your finger on the trigger in that pic? If so, it may be because the trigger is too long.

Yes it is, but just for first DA shot. I don't believe that is the trigger squeeze, because I don't have troubles to hit with first shot and steel almost always fall with first shot. At last match I've missed only one steel with 1st shot out of 22 steel targets at my normal shooting speed. Or it is possible just to squeeze for second shot? And when I am shooting slow the group is always where it should be.

  7. Hi!

I am curious to know why is my second shot always low left. It's low just for in 1/2" or less but left between 1"-2". I am right handed with left eye dominant shooter. Last Saturday I've shot a stage with IPSC 2/3 targets. On 8 of 12 targets I had alpha-charlie (low left) situation. I am watching front sight so it returns in back notch, but I believe that guns just doesn't return straight down. It's something wrong with my grip, too much or to little pressure?

P.S. I've done search function, but no results for my situation so I apologize if topic already exists.

  8. I just received my .40 EAA Match. Beautiful gun but I don't understand the half stop on the hammer? whats it for ..

I thought there was something wrong with the gun and then read the manual and they mention it there but dont tell you why it exists

    Alex

It's safety mechanism, if you drop the gun and hammer falls it should catch on half stop.

  9. Just for comparison.

    Prices in Erope are.

    STI plastic grip...........225$

    STI alu grip................600$

    SVI plastic grip...........300$

SVI alu grip S or L......675$

    SVI alu signature grip.720$

SVI SS grip S or L.......870$

    SVI SS signature.........915$

    SPS plastic grip.............75$

I just hope, that Kimber or any other cheaper company will start producing 2011 guns. I don't mind on lower quality for vault guns.

  10. How thick are Henning grip plates comparable to factory ones. I've bought factory grips, but they are to thin and I am dropping mags out. Are Henning's any thicker? I really like blue ones and now are 20% off. Can someone help me with the answer, fast?

They are thinner than the factory rubber grips for the Match... exactly what I was looking for since I've got the opposite problem: it's hard for me to hit the mag release with the factory grips.

Sorry wrong question  . I would like to hear comparison with alu factory grip plates. Wooden are a little thick for me but alu too thin, so I am searching for something in the middle. I am asking for Stock II.

    Thank you for fast response.

  11. Hey guys, what's the lightest hammer spring I can go with in a Elite Match while still maintaining 100% reliability in setting off all factory primers?

I shoot IDPA mostly, so Henning's x-long firing pin is not an option since I'd have to remove the firing pin block (IDPA rules dictate NOT removing the firing pin block or any other safety's, guys who do this are cheating...).

I don't reload so I shoot whatever fmj I can find locally (wwb, monarch, blazer, etc.).

    Thanks.

The same dilemma when I setup my Stock 2 because I shoot IPSC Production. The lightest hammer spring you can use with factory firing pin is 14 lbs but you have to use exclusively Federal Primers. Others like CCI, Winchester, Magtech, will not se toff.

I have no problem with it until Federal became difficult to find here in the Philippines. So we were forced to manufacture extended firing pin as long as the EGW but can still retain the FP block.

Get an extended FP and no problem with any primer. Now I use CCI.

Since you can't reload use Federal Ammo exclusively.

    Hope this help.

Extended firing pin is not allowed in IPSC production, so now you are shooting standard or are you cheating?

  12. He payed 3400 Euros which is 4900$. Gun was delivered directly from Sig Sauer Master Shop Germany with Aimpoint . After aprox. 9K round he had to sent it back for slide replacement, because old one was so damaged from barrel locking. They replaced it with no questions asked. (Wish I had photos, it was very interesting damage.)

  13. post-11497-1246730585_thumb.jpgpost-11497-1246730602_thumb.jpgI think that some of you are absolutely correct in the fact that Master Level Gunsmiths are going to build Great Guns.

And I have seen alot of Really Bad A$$ guns out there that function and run like a scalded dawg.

Now it comes down to your personal taste and customer service

My guns were built by Bedell Custom

As was the Open gun Max Michel is Shooting at the World Shoot Right now.

To quote Max, " I normally have to wait on my gun to cycle, this gun is so smooth and fast it is waiting on me".

    Check it out.

Are you saying that Max is still shooting open with 2011? I thought he went with X-Five open, which is crap by the way. I have a disappointed friend to confirm that.
