Easy fix. You can drive out the old bushing from the rear with a punch. ..........
....... in the bushing is hole thru in firing pin size..............
-
sorry it look as terrible solution
gun shipping from Europe aren´t so easy as across the US

figure does not represent the current state, it's a state before the last shot, after this bushing disintegrated,
the rest is to be removed, in the bushing is hole thru in firing pin size.
Remains only electrical erosion and I dont know how deep with erosion because dont know how thick are the bushing and what is correct design and sizes of bushing.
sorry for my english :-)

.......... One other note you will also need to make sure the arms of the star don't contact the cylinder and hinder reseating., ..................
by my experiences it causes more with B style designed bore in cylinder (for extractor shaft)
as guide for file using steel chamber insert with ball bearings
for ratchet fitting finish I use old sharpened hands
for 586/685 chamber insert with 10mm OD bearings

I think the problem isn´t possibility to shot with cylinder out, but possibility shot with unlocked center pin
(by contact of shooters thumb with cylinder latch or some technical problem)
I think the design what prevent this failure is part of safety
it is similar as 3th pin of the hand

I think he is speaking about marks by non deburred rebound slide

If s&w would make a 6 inch 625 how many units do you think would sell?
I'd buy two (with short cylinder I hope)

It looks like they also make a 6.5 lb spring as well. They include a rubber band with the spring to tie your finger to the trigger.
no rubber band, superglue at the finger works better
627 trigger
