  1. Hi there, After settling on the Stock II as my PD pistol of choice, I finally decided to take a Large Frame version. During the pre-purchase tests it ate everything using the large frame mags without the rail inserts, including S+B 124s, Geco 124s, Magtech 95s and even Winchester 147s, so no issues regarding the topic of 9mm Tanfos in large frames. The fit is very good between the frame, slide and barrel, and the resultant accuracy is excellent. My biggest gripe with the Stock II was the TRIGGER - extremely scratchy and heavy (SA 4.5lbs and DA 9lbs) from the factory, which didn't bother me too much but is probably a big turn-off for many when compared to the tuned versions of the CZ SP-01. A thread in this forum on this subject helped to identify the hot spots, so thanks to all for the tips . A marathon of polishing, adjustment to the trigger and sear spring tensions and restoning of the hammer hooks and sear face resulted in an overall reduction down to 2.5 lbs SA and 7 lbs DA. Also, the hammer spring was replaced with a Wolff 14 lb version. Compared to a CZ, apart from the tighter fit and better barrel (Lothar Walther), one of the other most convincing reasons to take a Tanfo was this forum and Henning. Not only did the discussion with him prove to be most informative, but the service was equally good. I ordered a number of spare parts, especially spare mag springs and followers to experiment with increasing the mag capacity (17+1 rounds is standard). I also took a set of Henning's grips in black with checkering, which had to shortened at the bottom to fit in above the small magwell on the Large Frame versions of the Stock II. They are very well machined and improve the handling qualities of the pistol during double taps as well. With the spare parts and some testing on a prototype mag, the capacity was increased to 18+1. This involved removal of one spring coil and shortening of the follower's height by approx. 1/4 inch. It proved to be borderline with respect to the slide stop not locking back the slide reliably though, but this was solved by rebending the top section of the mag spring upward to increase the force on the follower slightly when the mag is empty. Practical testing is yet to follow, hopefully this weekend... Conclusion: This Stock II really rocks now...and looks cool with Henning's grips as well . Bianchi
