  1. A Glock or 1911, all the parts in the world-can have spares, never a need to send the gun ever, for any reason.

My criteria is all replacement parts are available-never ever have to send the gun out to be fixed, factory or gunsmith.

Our we at that point with the M@P?????

Using my M&P, going on almost 4yrs, I have had to replace the striker and mail pistol back to S&W for extractor replacement.

For other maintenance, I replaced the mag catch, mag followers and trigger return spring.

Guess what...this all cost me nothing thanks to their lifetime warranty. It's advised to have a spare striker.

  2. I saw several bullets that fragmented (including a few of my own) after going through it. It seriously affected some bullets in a negative way. Soft cover should be an impediment to vision not bullet proof.

    Fragmented?

    Hmmmm...

My .40 PD's went where I put them without problem. Perhaps, as Flex said, they flew between the strips ....

I shot this as the last stage on Friday. Both layers of plastic had a number of round/aligned holes. I did not see any linear tears.

If we use only one layer of the plastic strips, that will make our remaining supply last twice as long; and I think it'll be equally effective as a vision barrier. .

I prefer this set-up to black landscape plastic that we've used in the past.

We did not have any problems when I was ROing the stage with the strips. We just had to be a little more careful scoring the target though because of the rubber splatter.

One strip would be enough for next time.

  3. Anyone have any video??? I'm curious to see how everyone shot the stages.

    Flyin

    I have 4 videos below.

I shot some video while ROing the Ohio State Championship Saturday 10/3/09 at stage 5 (Triangle.) One of my friends, Adam Knoles, open div, displaying good footwork while running up range and engaging poppers. Also video of Jerry Mucilek shooting his revolver at the same stage. Another video of another friend Matthew Fuesz also shooting same stage, ltd div. Jeff LaFave is the RO

A 4th video of one of the shooters from the Army team shooting stage 6 (Tri) really fast during Sunday's U.S IPSC Championship. Hunter Booth is the RO.

  4. When I notice my shots doing that it's time for the ball & dummy drill. You will be amazed what you see and tightens my groups after every ball & dummy drill session.

This is the drill: Mix in some snap caps in a magazine with live ammo and fire. Bet you'll see your muzzle dip. Best thing to do is relax and let the shot surprise you.

  5. It looks that since there is no overhang, the lower portion of the press would hit the cabinet drawers no?

If you are interested in looking at Dillon presses, they sell a item called a strong mount for their presses that would take care of the overhang issue.

Strong mount(Stock#22051) - if your bench is either too low for comfortable use, or you need to access drawers underneath, the strong mount elevates the entire machine above your bench top. Raises height of the RL 550B to 29 1/2".

Why is there two shots for one little strain of the flu when every year one little shot gots you covered for like 4-5

strains going around that year ?? What about the stories of neuro damage going around ?? Hospitol workers ??

Blame it on our naive immune systems. It takes the immune system a while to ramp up to fight unique types of influenza. Since we've never been exposed to this brand-new Swine virus. Scientists assume our bodies will act like those of young children so two shots are being given.

When children under age 9 get their first flu vaccine — the kind that protects against regular winter flu — one dose doesn't spark as much immune protection as the doses they'll get over the next years. So those first-timers are given two shots, a month apart, for good protection. Things are in the works for a single shot though to make it easier.

Back in 2006, the same problem occurred when scientists tested a vaccine against the notorious Asian bird flu. It took two very high doses to generate any protection.

About the neuro damage- influenza (flu) vaccines contain a preservative (thimerosal) and some suggessted this may be related to developmental problems in children. After many studies that looked into this theory found no evidence of this.

  7. We make the above out of 2x4's.

The sticks we use for the uprights are 1x2 furring strips. In 8ft. lengths, they cost about a buck each. We then cut them so that we have a 5 ft. pieces and 3ft. pieces.

What does everybody else use for target stands?

    Pictures?

    Kyle,

I've made a couple for personal use out of 5' of 1.5" diameter PVC and 4 PVC Ts. The bottom two legs filled with concrete.

  8. Ok, so last Saturday night I shot a three stage match. On the last stage the gun didn't go bang when I pulled the trigger. Being a Production guy at heart I reloaded, racked the slide and finished the stage. When I picked up the mag this is what I found...

This from a gun that in over 3K rounds hasn't so much as had a hiccup let alone a jam. Nothing, Nada, zilch, zippo, zero problems. 100% percent bang switch boom.

I leave this Saturday for the MI Section and I'd really like to know what to look for.

Sorry Ryan I thought you were keeping your empties in there.

  9. Shoot 150 rounds through M&P Pro and had a ton of lead left in barrel, load was 115 grain lead rn, 3.6 grains of tite group. This produced 1085 fps

through my chrony. Gun also got very hot. Took almost 45 min to clean the barrel. Anyone know if it is not recommended to shoot lead through

factory barrel. Thanks for your help.

Yes you can shoot lead through it.

  10. It doesn't matter if you shoot different mfg brass together since they are all made to the same specs. I reload and my mags are full of brass from all sorts of mfg, CCI, Remington, Federal, Winchester etc etc. There is also a mixture of brass and nickel cartridges in there also.

I don't think there is a certain set # on how many times 9mm cases can be reloaded. The best answer is "a lot" and have heard of people reloading them more than 10x. You are much more likely to loose them before their reloading life has expired.

  11. I have 5k through my FS M&P.

The striker broke recently and S&W mailed me a new one for free. I also started to get death jams with it with all types of ammo.

Got it back from S&W last week and they polished the chamber and replaced the extractor. Shot it last weekend and it is running great again.

  12. I am reloading with 115 gr RN 9mm and used brass on a Dillon SDB press.

I don't have a clue how much crimp I should apply? I do have a digital caliper to check.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
