  1. JT, I'll slide my neck into the noose...... Plaques / trophies to Division & Class winners per USPSA guidelines. For the Large (guns, etc.) prizes: Half of the large prizes to the winners of the largest (most shooters) Divisions (rewards skill, performance, etc.) The other half of the large prizes are distributed by random drawing (rewards the other 95% of shooters for continuing to show up). If you have 6 guns to give away, 3 go to the Division winners that contain the most shooters. The other 3 to random drawing winners. For the Small prizes: Do a random draw prior to the match and distribute at registration table. Other comments or suggestions on a prize table: Try to get prize table donations as gift certificates instead of something that is "not useful" to everyone. An example of the potential upside for suppliers - One time I received a $50 certificate from Bagmasters and bought a $100 bag - worked out well for both of us. I'll plan to attend the match regardless of the prize table. I'm there to shoot and have a good time. As a lowly C-Class shooter, if I win a Large prize through performance or dumb luck, that's great. If not, see the previous line. Instead of cash payback, buy more Large prizes (guns). As a performance prize, return the registration fee to the Division winners. My $0.02...... Good luck planning the match!
  2. Thanks to all for the replies. I knew that the UMC 115gr were light, but had done "ok" with the 124gr, but only by 3 - 4 PF. Have picked up some other brands which include some 147's to see how they work. Also looking to do some side by side with XD for comparison (which may confuse me more). Had not heard of Magtech / aware of the Atlanta Arms - plan to check into both.
  3. I have a P226 (9mm, approx 25,000 rounds through it) that I shoot in USPSA Production division using factory ammo (Yes - I need to buy a reloader, etc, etc, etc - can't do it right now). I recently chrono'd some factory ammo and came up with sub-minor power factors: Remington UMC 115 gr - PF = 118 Remington UMC 124 gr - PF = 124 Winchester 115 FMJ (WWB) - PF = 123 Using a ProChrono Digital - tried closer & farther to chrono, high & low in screen, etc. with minimal change in results (+/- 1 PF). Power Factor standard deviation for all around 2.0. From what I understand of the PF history, it was roughly based on factory ammo (or happened to be similar). Know a lot of people shooting WWB with no issues. I have heard that Sig barrels are "slow", but not sure how or why. If so, what is the remedy (without buying a new gun)? Anyone have similar experience, data, comments or suggestions?

    Sig Mosquito

I bought two Mosquitos a couple of years ago - one for each son. Over time, I've had a few issues - manual safety came loose (was told a bad batch of locktite - Sig fixed no charge), changed the front sight (went taller to hit POA) and went to the heavy spring. Also found they are very picky on the ammo they like. I have heard .22s are picky like this, but have no others to compare to. I did some testing with about 14 different makes / models (including the highly recommended CCI Minimag) and found Remington Thunderbolt to work the best. My guns didn't like the Minimags that well. Buy different types to see what works the best. Since I use a P226 in USPSA Production, I use them for cheap practice. Don't know if they are helping me any, but fun to shoot. They are not my 226, but serve their purpose - good beginner guns, cheap & fun to shoot, look/feel/operate similar to other Sigs.
