The cause of this accident has been determined. The finger was not on the trigger.

    - The competitor had a cocked and locked CZ 75 SP01 Shadow, with a red dot on the slide, in a Dasta 720 DLB holster that had a slot cut for the red dot.

    - He was running to the pistol shooting position, with his hand on the pistol butt. Then he jumped into a depression in the ground (sort of foxhole), and the pistol went off while still firmly in the holster.

    - 7mm of forward and back movement of the pistol in the holster allowed the safety to move to the "fire" position.

    - During the natural arm movement during the jump, the holster allowed the pistol to come up about 6mm and twist so that the trigger snagged on a part of the release mechanism.

    - When he landed, the pistol went downwards, with the trigger snagged on the mechanism.

    - Boom.

This has been repeated, using holsters with, and without, the red dot cut.

You might be able to view a demo at https://resul.fi/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Vahinkolaukaus_20072019.mp4

It goes pretty quickly when the guy shakes the pistol and simulates the jump. I had to watch it a few times before I saw where the hammer went down.

Saw it first time, but you had told us it was fast. Crazy 😜

I have been using my XL650 since 2008 and have over 500K of ammo loaded on it with very minimal issues. If you are a recent XL650 purchaser who somehow feels like they now have an inferior machine, don't worry about it. The XL650 is awesome and will serve you well. I also highly doubt that there will be a marked drop in value for the 650's in the resale market.

I’ve had mine longer than that ,and I don’t plan to get rid of it anytime soon.

  3. Well Doc. I lived thru this thing, only took a year to learn how to walk again, but I didn’t take 10 years off. As for senior citizens class you’re a long way from that. As for the rules changed yea they changed a lot in the last 15 years I’ve been shooting. You are in mid 40’s so some of the 20 to 30 will beat you. But nobody can beat me,if they do they say yea but he’s an old man, but if I beat them everyone says you let that old man beat you. So you see I can’t be beat. At least not to brag about it. Enjoy 😉 shooting and reloading . Practice till you get it right.

  4. The only stages I really don’t care for is those that have gun on table mag on another table and 15 yards between the two. As one of the super seniors still in the game I just can’t keep up with a 15 yard sprint of a say 30 year old.

Bought a new gun and didn’t think they needed two maybe? Bought a FGW and didn’t like it, so they sold it? Bought one on impulse and realized they are still a production shooter at heart?

There are low mileage guns of all makes for sale at any given time on here, even SV’s.

Couple years ago I bought new suv, less than 500 miles transmission went out. Cost a lot more than new open gun.

anything can will and sometimes breaks.

Like sarge said I’ve bought guns and then said to myself I don’t like this thing, back for sale. No I’ve never owned a CK but have seen lots on the range they all shot.
