i load and shoot SC, TJ and AP RL in my SV IMM and they run flawless. I don't think mag capacity is an issue because i have seen 30rnd super mags run flawless.

Anywhere you look, you will see yet another 2011.
Where to find enough money?
tell me about it. Damn i just bought another one!!

Most of my co-workers know I shoot. The 650 in my office kind of gives it away. My boss is a shooter and I reload for us in the office.
wow
You don't work with Dillon do you?
I work with a Dillon during parts of the day, but sadly I don't work for Dillon. Work for an elevator company.
Elevator Company! which one?
-
The rental thing is a scam. all cars comes with 3 keys. they keep one and give you two because if you loose them its like $250.............EACH!!!! Thats the catch.
-
Sounds like the real question is: How many of us dryfire, reload, and do minor gunsmithing at the office?
It really seams like that should be the topic.
-
I shoot both. I just started shooting Open in Feb2010 and actually prefer limited. I rotated what i shot at majors this year. Whatever i feel like shooting i shoot.

I'm in agreement with G-man and D.R. I believe variable springs are simply smoke and mirrors.
Have you ever taken a Wolff conventional recoil spring and fired it against a variable power recoil spring of the same weight, with the same ammo, back-to-back? To me the difference in felt recoil and muzzle flip is both real and significant.
+10
I run a variable 7lb in my Open IMM and a variable 10lb in my lightened Limited. Night and day between variable and conventional.

+10 give Derek a call. He even replaced one i screwed up for free. He fitted it for me too.
How much did it cost for him to fit the AFTEC, and what was the turnaround? I may have Millenium fit an AFTEC in my new gun.
There was no charge to fit my extractor. ust give him a call and he will let you know. www.mcguns.com

Millennium Custom Accu-Trac 6" Limited.
Is that made for a lefty?
you can move the racker to whatever side you like.

If you're already cutting the ed brown, buying the SV is a waste. it is overly wide and only feels good on their steel frame gun or a polymer grip that hasnt been undercut.
-
have them on both the limited and open. i had to cut alot of material off to make it fit my hands. kept turning it on during reloads. the right side had to be shaved as it was hurting my hand due to a high grip. Love them but think i can accomplish the same with the brown at half the cost.

If i have to worry about the slight change in feel of a spring, i need to spend some more time on the range. To me, the 7lbs runs ideal in my gun. its the lightest i can go and still get the slide to strip a round. a friend of mine, well known GM, runs a 6lb variable in his IMM. the gun does not move at all when he shoots. same with mine, and mine runs flawless. at the end of the day, its all about preference. For me 7lb variable straight from the package.
Just another side note, in my limited, i run a 9lb variable with 170pf loads. i guess i'm just nuts.

Wolf variable 7lb. runs like a sewing machine.

I wonder if the scopes that are breaking how much do you have the elevation cranked down? How much do you adjust it?
This shouldnt be an issue. you adjust the c-more to what ever your zero is.
-
I saw a top ranked GMs' C-more break in the middle of a stage at a match. The scores at the end showed him zeroing the stage, or close to it, costing him the match. it was in the same place mentioned. I havent thought about getting one because of the weight and now wouldnt think about getting one with this issue. Once again though, some people have problems holding zero with the standard unit and them some are having problems with the aluminum breaking.

I use 10 grain 3N38 to make 169 with winchester small pistol primers and new brass. I too have some amount of residue in my chamber but all that is relative.

The lead from the FMJ might be a factor. VV powders are very expensive compared to the others. I would switch from FMJ to CMJ or JHP and if its still not as clean as you like, then go to the VV. I shoot an Infinity IMM which pretty much has the same barrel, 4 port plus comp, and i use VV 3N38. The cleanest every shot in my gun. I have never had to clean my comp and if i happen to use another powder for practice, i fire a few rounds with the 3N38 and it cleans the comp back up.
-
In Jamaica we use winchester factory 9x23 loads, in our Infinity IMM, which work out to be the same as supercomp. would be nice if it was available here in the US. Cost wise, it's not that much more than 9mm.
-
I run 10.1 gr. 3N38 with 121 gr. MTG bullets at 1.24 OAL in my shorty and get 171 PF. NOTE: 165 PF is necessary for Major if you are shooting in the U.S.
which gun are you shooting that load from?
-
check to see if you have a crack in the grip by the mag release button. also check your grip screws. i have had it happen, (not when hot), when my grip screws loosen up.

I've only ever got dots in sights, I remembered that blue was 6 and was thinking yellow was 8 but I wasn't sure.
I do have one that's open on the bottom, no colored dot at all. Care to take a poke at what size that one is? I'd guess 6 or 8?
I have one without a color also and was told by cmore that its an 8.

You can argue what famous sources say about curved vs. flat till you're blue in the face, but answer me one question ......... is the meaty part of the finger that pulls the trigger on your gun flat or curved?
It may be curved while not under any pressure, but once you put pressure on it, it will deform to the shape of the surface.
Assuming your trigger isn't extremely (<1.5 lbs maybe, I'm guessing here) light, the curved trigger will require more pressure to trip the sear if you are off the vertical center of the trigger since there is an x and y axis component to the force to the surface of the trigger, assuming you are looking at the trigger from the side. Following this logic, if you are slightly above/below the center of the trigger, you will apply pressure on the Y-axis, causing you to push the gun up, or more likely, down.
The flat trigger will allow you to always apply pressure without Y-axis finger placement affecting the shooter's pulling the trigger straight to the rear.
My 2 cents.
Exactly what My 2 cents was going to be. to me, the flat or top enos curved is a whole lot more consistent than having to find the center of the trigger all the time on the curve.
