RH45,
Yeah I know that it is an option, and a good one. Sometimes knowing that the gun is capable can do wonders for your mental game.

A les Baer premiere 2 with the 1 1/2" garuantee is very tough to beat in my opinion. Just add a magwell and you are good to go.

What reticle was in the S&B? Also what size did the dot appear to be? Thanks.
-
I'm woth you rtr, I wouldn't use 8 power that often but sometimes it would be nice. As far as eye relief changes, my current short dot does not change at all and I thought that was one of the benefits of a FFP reticle. I also would like to see it with their P4 fine reticle. I am also curious about the size of the dot, and can I get it far enough out since I run nose to charge handle?

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone but... It seems that it is mostly the older and out of shape people who don't want the "run and gun" stages. I think that there are two reasons for that. 1. As a person gets older they are not able to do physical things as well as when they were younger and this hurts there pride. 2. Keeping your high classification matters too much. I know of a few shooters that were classified as B,A and Masters that no longer shoot at that level. Age and physical shape has taken that from them. So if they can eliminate the "run and gun" part of the stages they have a better shot at scoring at the top. Again this is pride.
Now I am not suggesting rope climbing and repelling, but stretch it out a little and/or difficult shots is where it's at. I like others is why I like 3gun so much and sometimes feel bored with pistol matches. I am 6'1 and 225 so I am not in the best of shape and can be beat in a foot race by alot of the other shooters. However, I also get beat by alot fast shooters and I doubt that I will ever put into it to get to GM. In both cases I am OK with it and enjoy the game.
My point to all of this is, is it your pride that wants to make it easier for yourself so you look better?

Doug,
Did you get to look through one? If so, were the crosshairs similar to the 1x4 at 1 power? And here is the big question, would you trade your swaro for one?
Thanks

That is a good buy and if it set up in 38SC the shell plate is the same for a 223. All you would need to do is switch the dies out and buy a SP casefeed plate.

I would be interested in details for juniors. This will be my son's first big match (he's 13) and I just sent in our apps.
-
My app is in the mail, can't wait for another great match.
-
I can hardly wait. I shot this last year for the first time and it was one of the best matches and I learned alot about me and my gear.
-
I used 231 in my kids 38SC with a 115 and it worked pretty well.

Thanks runNgun.

It seems that a few people are using Autocomp now and I am wondering if it is temp sensitive and how much. Also has anyone used Sihlouette and a comparison between the two?
Thanks

I shot that match also. On #3 in the vid I took both the paper after finishing the plate rack through the barrel. On #2 I did the same start as you and stood to shoot the paper on the right, then took the two on the left on the move. When dry running it shooting the three on the move, after shooting the one on the right I found myself too far downrange and possible breaking the 180. I didn't do this but a guy on our squad went in deep to shoot the four poppers, then went directly to the swinger and stayed there to shoot the turner also. It was one of those I can't believe I didn't think of that moments.
By the way your reloads are great.

How is the temp sensitivity of Autocomp? Does anybody have any comparisons between Silohuette (sp?) and Autocomp?

That is Great. I told my son about this camp and told him if his grades improve and they have it next year I will get him signed up. He went from a 2.5 to a 3.5 this year, I can hardly wait for him to go. Thanks MGM for all your efforts.

What I try to do is pick something (reloads, transitions, movements) and focus on that one thing in the match, I don't get any live fire practice. When I tried to do it all I found I failed at most, so this works for me. Also, forget about the top shooter. Pick someone that is just a little better in placement than you are, and it doesn't matter if they are in a different division, and try to beat them. I think this helps with the frustrations of how did they do it 11 seconds faster or that seems impossible with the top shooter. When you consistantly beat that guy just move up the list. Smaller goals are easier to stay focused with than the grand ones.

I picked up a used caspian in 38SC that EGW did for my son. It came with 8 mags and although the slide to frame fit isn't as tight as my STI this thing runs and shoots well. Maybe I got lucky because all the mags run well and they aren't the prettiest. Now if I could get my 12 year old to join me at matches more than just once every other month I would be very happy with this purchase. Maybe in time.

Great stages! I really like watching others shoot Jail Break, it was hilarious. Where can we view the results?

I am in the same boat as bill j. Did you guys recieve my application? Thanks.
-
WOW, sandbagger huh? I am just right on the cusp. If my draws would come down from 1.8 I think i might just bump up, ofcourse I might have to practice to do that.

The jungle run stage was cool but it was even better with shotgun and pistol at the R&R 3 gun match the week before. I would guess it was about 50 yards running up the rough path.
-
I lit off about 50 once and I am not sure what exactly happened. I always wear my safety glasses and either plugs or my ipod now.

That sucks, I just got one of the small ones. I hope STI takes care of it.
