(This doesn't seem like the right place for this, but there were not really many other options!)
Hello, I am new. Someone sent me over hear from another message board.
I have a question or two for anyone. I am getting into USPSA and am now looking for the right match gun. I am already getting a 45ACP SA Loaded, so I don't need much help in that department.
My question is actually About 9mms for Production.
I wanted to get a 9mm anyway, so I started looking and figured that I'd get something I could shoot Production with if I wanted to. I kind of have narrowed it down to these, because of my price range and specs:
CZ-85 Combat 9mm
Para LDA Tac-Five 9mm
I considered this EAA Witness too, but I don't know if I can use it in USPSA. ?
My question was in regards to the Para and the reason I was directed to over here. Someone said, "Before you buy a new Para, go talk to some folks that compete who you trust. Or go ask on the competition specific forums at: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/ Their "Power-Extractor" has a less than stellar track record with people that shoot a lot. And being a proprietary part, you're essentially stuck with a Para replacement. No aftermarket solutions, like an Aftec extractor, which normal 1911s use".
So, what's the deal? Is this really something I should worry about? I plan on shooting a lot and would rather not have to replace my gun very soon.
Also, I had also considered this CZ-P01, but I wanted adjustable sights. This one doesn't have them, but is the gun any better than my first choice?
I have heard CZ has some reliability issues. How true is this?
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I am a very small person with small hands (4' 11"). I have to get guns that will fit my hands comfortably.
Also, if anyone has any other suggestions to offer, I would love to know!
Specs that I am sticking to are adjustable sights, 5" barrel, ALL METAL (no polymer) and the $300-600 price range if possible.
