Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I saw your new videos on YouTube. Pretty cool!!

  2. Who said I was scared? No, I'll just "tip" over when I shoot em! (Or you'll have to prop me up with a stick or something ) Yeah this is the truth! I'm only 4' 11" - 105lbs.!!!! When I carry a rifle on a sling, it hit's the back of my legs and generally ends up with a lot of dirt in the barrel!
  3. OK, my other choice would be the Remington Model 11-87 Sportsman - I guess the 26" one. Although I sure wish they had a shorter one. LINK The MSRP is $739, realistically how much might one of these be used? Why would one get a longer one as opposed to the shorter one (28" & 26")? I want to get the least expensive magazine extension out there. Is there anything less than Nordic Components? I looked on their website, but only found extensions for Benelli. LINK. Which one would I need to get and would these work?
  4. OK, after reading quite a bit on this I have sort of come to some decisions. When I do buy one - I don't want a pump shotgun, I can't afford the B brands although I LOVE Benelli's M1/M2 20ga field guns (it's my favorite shotgun so far). I am thinking of going with these or something similar: SA-20 20ga Autoloader from Mossberg LINK 1000 Series Model 1020 - 20 Gauge from Smith & Wesson LINK Since I can't afford really high end, I think I could find these used at a decent price (...well, hopefully!) I am going to keep looking around though. I'm really not that picky and will probably end up getting the first non-pump that I see at a good deal. I wish there was something with a smaller stock/more options for stock size, etc. that was still inexpensive... ideas?
  5. I was just wondering if anyone has come across a really good source for ideally, FMJ 45acp 230g and 9mm 115g? I know it's all pretty high, but I've just gotten started and wanted to make sure I got the best prices before I go ordering stuff. Eventually, I'll probably cast, but I don't have the time right now. It seems like the lowest I've found on 1,000 of 45s is about $126 shipped. As for 9mm, well, I haven't actually looked that much yet. What are the current *best* prices out there? Anyone found it for cheaper than I listed? What about 9mm? Thanks for any help in advance!
  6. So what is the capacity of the 1100 and 1187? And while I'm asking, what capacity is generally the most common for shotgun in 3 gun? Also, about how much do these gun run? Do I have to do a lot of mods, or do they come ready to shoot? Thanks! (Other than a single shot, I know nothing about shotguns! )
  7. Can anyone give me some good suggestions for a good entry level 20 gauge? I can't afford really high end stuff, so a basic shotgun would be what I'll end up getting. I am a complete newbie who has no experience with 3 gun at all... not even a match yet, but I might like to try it at some point and would like to pick up a good shotgun that would work in 3 gun when I get ready. The only reason I say 20 gauge is because I am only 4' 11'' and I'd like to start out there. I can't afford one now, but I'd still like to know what to look for when I start shopping around. Thanks in advance for the help! -Kate
  8. I am trying to avoid opening another thread just for this question and figured someone could give me a quick answer... Is there any disadvantage to shooting a sanctioned bigger match as an unclassified shooter? Is there any advantage to shooting them as unclassified? Also, how often do sanctioned big matches have classifier stages in them? Thanks!
  9. About when does this generally start filling up? I'd love to try to shoot this, but I am on a tight budget right now and I don't know if I'll be available then or not. I just need to know about how much time I'll have to make plans, etc. Thanks!
  10. That's good to know, thanks! Is there a specific reason you do this?
  11. Well, if it's a matter of wearing out the firing pin, I could easily replace it I guess. I am sort of new to all this competition shooting, but since my original post, I have learned really quickly to get over any worries I might have of dry firing if I want to get better. Not to mention, it MUCH cheaper than going through real ammo. However, one thing helps that I hadn't thought of before... get those little fake/dummy bullets with the built in springs inside. They are meant for dry fire practicing and supposedly saves your gun a little. Just make sure they are the practice kind (usually see through).
  12. I recently got this Dan Wesson Proofed Patriot. It's being tweaked right now, and hopefully when it comes back I'll be able to shoot some matches with it! The picture was taken before I put new grips on it and did a few other mods. I just thought I would share! Thanks for looking. (Picture credit goes to the previous owner.)
  13. LOL, SS 1911s just work for me (er... sometimes )! Besides, I am totally open to a lot of other stuff and would eventually like to venture out into other areas. Really, I am generally happy just having a gun in my hand period...
  14. Hey Clint! It's Kate from the Autism shoot. It's good to see you here!
