  1. I'm in the process of getting the lenses for my second pair as we speak. I love them. I didn't like anything in behind the lenses, and these look exactly like a non-prescription pair of Rydons, except that they really are prescription, and amazingly clear. Really neat technology, being able to make a nice looking pair of glasses (no circles in the middle) and still have quality optics. I'm using Action Brown, and Racing Red is what I'm ordering now.

Might want to hook up with one the Rudy Team guys here - like KGentry or Rocket35 - it can be helpful to talk to them.

  2. Bump this one because I'm interested in the same thing. Googled it, but don't really see anything that I'd trust to download.

edit - Actually just noticed the title - a little misleading - I didn't know we were talking mpg4. I didn't even know there were cameras that would do mpg4. Show's how little I know :) And it doesn't mention slow motion, which is what I'm interested in.

  3. I can only speak to reliablitly and overall use - not the jailbreak stuff.

Got mine when they were new and you had to wait a while to get one. It has performed flawlessly for me. Wide area on ATT, home network wireless connections all work great. Leave the network stuff turned off when not in use - saves a LOT of battery time. Speaking of which, when network is off, I've sat in an airport, listened to music for about 1 1/2 hours, played games another hour, then watched 2 movies on the plane. Barely even showed a loss on the battery. Really surprised me. But I'm told if you leave the networking on all the time, and talk a lot, be prepared to charge daily. I usually just turn on the networking, do what I have to do for a while, then turn it back off. I just took the standard plan that comes with the phone.

Rather limited info but hope it helps Howard.

  4. My son, who has real trouble trying to get off work on Saturdays, had 3 classifiers, 1 short of course of getting classified. He wants to shoot in the Fl St Championship with me, classified, so he showed up at a local match, signed up, shot the classifier, then left to go to work late.

Of course being in a hurry, other things on his mind (work), he zeroed it.(4 Bill Drill)

He's close to 40% on his other 3. Will they throw out the 0 (in which case he won't classify) or will they count it and just average it in ?

  5. I got a pair of Rydons with RX Interchangeables made in Action Brown. Like most of you I love them. Trying to push all my pennies into a big pile for second pair.

I have read this thread but would still like to verify something one more time. I want to do another pair of Rydons with Racing Red -or- The impact x red (if that's even possible in Rx - haven't checked yet). So the consensus is these red colors WON'T wash out the dot in my Cmore - correct ? Want to be absolutely sure - the pair I have was around $400 - don't want to screw up and buy something I can't use.

  6. Welcome turnandshoot4 !

Having just started a year ago, I would suggest you see if you can't round up a holster (beg/borrow/buy/steal) for your existing 226, get a belt and mag pouches (you can reuse those) and go shoot a couple matches and get your feet wet. I started with a Beretta 92 that I already had and did it like that, and it works out well. You'll be talking to people and learning a lot. Most will even offer to let you shoot their gun a few rounds after the match, then see what you want to do. You can check out all the divisions and pick up a lot in just a couple matches. I ended up with an M&P and that wasn't even on my list of candidates before I went and shot a couple matches.

PS - Just occurred to me - I think the 226 is on the approved list - I didn't go check.

  7. If I remember right, you were the first shooter on that stage, and at least half (or more) of the rest of the squad slipped in some form or fashion, in that same spot, but you went down the hardest. You kept it together nicely though Nelson. (I'd forgotten I was scoring)

  8. Guys please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you'd get the same symptoms if you were filling your mags without turning the gas bottle upside down while filling - correct ? Wouldn't you get all gas and no liquid until the pressure became low ? Seems like I read this somewhere once. My apologies if I'm incorrect about this.

  9. Re: the VV powder.

For what it's worth... I load my son's minor 9 with N320. They were 131PF here in Orlando on an 80 degree day. We went to chrono at Ga State match early in the AM and about 40-45 degrees. They were 131PF.

At the same time mine were 171PF with Silhouette here, and 176PF in Ga.

Some powders are definitely more temp sensitive. It would appear that VV N320 isn't one of the more sensitive ones.

  10. There was a gentleman around here by the name of Joe, who makes a knob for the click type (I have one), but I haven't seen him around lately, and I can't find his address(I need to talk to him too). Maybe he'll see this and respond.

I (and ormondopen) both looked at this and decided it wasn't worth it to try and remove that pin just to see what's underneath - I believe I remember being told that 'no, the shafts are different on the click' - but I can't quite remember.

    [boy - that was a lot of help wasn't it :( ]

  11. Just be warned that it might be a couple more months before you can manage it again.

Calling a couple of shots is usually followed by TRYING to call. Forcing the shot-call to happen, if you will. And it doesn't happen that way. You need to just relax, and see.

    +1 to this.

Congrats Memphis - feels really good doesn't it ? (oops - was meant for OP - not Memphis)

I posted a couple months ago when it suddenly happened for me. Now I can't seem to quit TRYING to make it happen again. I need to get my mind right - and I WILL do it.

  12. Shu - I moved into Open this year but my son is shooting production. I/he always shot regular old Win White Box from WalMart before I started reloading. It seems to do fine and has always made minor for me. You'll need to invest in, or borrow a chrono to know for sure, for your own piece of mind.

I will say that that now that I'm reloading, I'll never go back. Really is a big difference not only in cost, but in the way the loads feel in the gun. I know you didn't ask, but I'd feel negligent if I didn't at least mention it.

  13. I've been doing work in Puerto Rico for the last few years and have really taken to cafe con leche. I'd like to try it here at home. Can anyone recommend one of the low cost (< $75) espresso machines ? I really don't want to put hundreds into this trial - it's just an experiment at this point. Might be nice to have one of those steaming gizmos for the milk too, I'd think. Open to all advice !

  14. I've heard silhouette is reverse temp sensitive. Anyone else have this issue?

at area 1 (100 degrees plus! :surprise:) a fellow 9 major shooter and i found our fps slowed from what we had chron'ed at home. we both went from 172+pf to ~168pf in the heat. if it wasn't for the fact that we both had very similar drops i would have just chalked it up to my sloppy reloading...

i still will use silhouette as it works well for me.

Good - so that means you saw the same as I did, but in the reverse form, and it wasn't my loading either.

  15. I've heard silhouette is reverse temp sensitive. Anyone else have this issue?

Funny you should mention that. I was loading minor for my son (N320), and major for me (Silhouette) all at the same time. Even chrono'd them the same time.

His minor was 131PF, mine 172 PF. 86 degrees that day here in FL.

Went to Ga State (40 degree morning) - he chrono'd 131. Mine was 176 !
