  1. LeviSS - welcome to my world. I'm 3-4E also. It's a nightmare trying to find something quality and aggressive. Most approaches have been mentioned above and I won't repeat. The only one I'll add would be Sketchers. Not a wonderful solution but better than the shoes with no support at all, and budget friendly. Also - spend some time on Zappos - they make searching and viewing easy, and are really set up for returns/exchanges. They sell cleats also (saw that mentioned above). [Side note: if you play golf - Footjoy is the answer. Absolutely, without question, the best shoe, of any kind, I've ever put on my feet in 63 years.] JimInFL
  2. Just coming back after being gone for a while and ran across this thread. Curious - have Pro Ears fallen out of favor ? Have use them for years in Open and liked them a lot. Seemed to be the 'go to' here in Fl for a long time. JimInFl edit - oops, off-topic - sorry.
  3. Like I said - don't know where you're at (sounds like more toward west side maybe), but if you can find the time to sneak over to the east, try here also. http://titusvillegun.org/code/Home.aspx
  4. Might try this range. We shoot two matches a month there and Wednesday's are 'open' (with a fee of course). Don't know where you're located exactly. http://www.volusiacountygunandhuntclub.com/public-safety-appreciation.html Jim
  5. Mine was around 12 days total both times, including the time spent in transit, as i remember. (e.g. that's how long I was without it)
  6. Jay - see my post in this thread.. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191646&hl= JimInFL
  7. Anyone getting a response from MBX on email ? No luck here after several days. jiminfl edit: after looking closer at the home page, it does say 'late January' for purchasing. I might be a little premature looking for ordering info.

    RTS 2

3 matches since the board upgrade and working. Keeping my fingers crossed like everyone else that has one working right now. Question - anyone have a feel for battery life yet ? I've been leaving mine on for the duration of the match (3 as I said above) to see what happens. Anyone have any further info ? JimInFL
  9. czbeardly - i might be missing something here. I mentioned above, the ejector - not the extractor. if the pin hole isn't sized/aligned or allows the ejector to move up, it will catch the slide and stop it short of battery. And then when you pull the slide back, it can get pushed back down enough to get out of the way momentarily (which complicates it because you can't see it happening now). Look at the back of the gun assembled - can you see clearance between the top of the ejector and the slide ?
  10. What aircooled said (did you mean ejector ?)about ejector - check that it isn't moving up. Had that same thing happen to me with one that wasn't installed exactly right. Doesn't take much and will catch slide. JimInFL
  11. Hope I'm in the right forum. Posting for a friend who recently received this, passed down from his father. He'd sent the photo to me, wanting to know if I had any info on it. Not a revolver guy myself - was hoping someone might shed some info on model, type, history, value, anything really. Thanks. JimInFL
  12. Just saw on classifieds a guy has 5 lbs of Solo 1000 - very reasonable. JimInFL
  13. Resurrecting this older topic. Hoping for more opinions and experiences now that we've had more opportunity to play. Well I've been experimenting with the 124 BBIs in my open gun using WAC, A#7, HS-6. Some general observations, as compared to MG/Zero 124/125... Given the same charge weights, these bullets produce much faster velocities. For example A#7 @ 9 gr (BBI), is faster than 9.8 gr with MG. I clean my gun every match, but I really don't think I'm seeing any lead build up anywhere in the gun that's drastically, or even noticeably to me, different. They smoke. Bottom line - The jury is still out. I REALLY WANT to love these things - they open a lot of options for loading. I just don't know if I can get past the smoke. If you post and say "I don't get much smoke", then I stand in envy. JimInFL
  14. Just a related side note.. I spoke with C-More on the phone and they said 'end of May' they will be shipping the new design. JimInFL

Guys - what's the real status on this (turning off) from C-more vs what you're seeing ? I got the impression this issue was all fixed now on the latest ones they are shipping. But a fellow I shoot with has had his back to them twice now. They've had it far more than he has. I'm about to move on this soon - sure would like to know what the real story is. JimInFL
  16. I seemed to remember loading that once, so looked in my load book notes. Have it marked as 4.6 gr at 1.125 and 147 gr Zero. But I honestly don't remember shooting it, been so long ago. But I also have it at 5.4 for 125 gr. in my book - so that sounds a little high in comparison to keach above - approach with caution. All I've loaded minor for is a standard size M&P, always looking for a 130 PF. Hopefully someone will post with a better confidence level in their numbers than me. JimInFL
  17. Interesting thread. I just received some 124 gr BBI with their new coating. I've loaded some with Autocomp, HS-6, and A#7 to experiment with. I'll add on here with what I'm able to observe. JimInFL
  18. my experience... I live in central FL. A couple years ago I loaded my sons 9 minor loads with N320 at 129 PF (love that powder). I loaded my 9 major loads with Silhouette at 169-170 pf. Was at least in the 80's here temp-wise. We went to the GA State match, and the morning we chrono'd, you could see your breath. He was 129 PF, I was 176. I'm a believer in the temp stability of N320 - at least for the areas I shoot in. JimInFL
  19. Update. Problem solved. Used a JP 1 degree shim (slightly dremel modified) under it. Worked perfectly. JimInFL
  20. I throw $.02 in here re: Vortex 1-4. I just recently bought one (the capped turrets model) and it really was almost a coin toss between that and the MTAC at the time. First off - I've never been able to afford a $1K+ optic, and probably never will. Even what I spent on this one was a stretch for me. But I am impressed - I can't imagine how much better the quality could get for 2x the price. Sighting it in, was smooth and right on. I love the circular part of the reticle. I will concur with the other posters - no point, on a sunny day, of even wasting battery on the illumination. The only problem I have with it is caused by my 58 year old eyes. I really was looking forward to the vertical stadia lines, in case I wanted to stretch out a little further than I'm used to, distance-wise. They are pretty thin for me. For younger eyes, they are probably perfect, and non-obtrusive. Maybe my next prescription adjustment could fix it - don't' know. Bottom line - I'd recommend it in a heartbeat from what I've seen so far. I have it mounted with a PEPR. JimInFL
  21. Went out to shoot my new upper yesterday. Setup is Vortex 1-4 and Burkett mount with a Fastfire 3. Vortex was quick enough to zero at 25. Was going to move on out further, but thought I would go ahead and work on the dot while at the 25. Was off quite a bit so I shot at a target in the lane next to me that was only about 7-8 yards to get it settled in a little. I ran out of 'up' adjustment with the POI still 6" low and 4" left. I don't see anything wrong with the way it's mounted e.g. burrs, bends, etc. If I can't figure anything else out, I may have to resort to some kind of shimming. Looking for input/suggestions. JimInFl
  22. Hi Santos. Welcome ! I travel to PR quite often. In fact I looked into the possibility of trying to shoot a match once - thought it might be fun and different. But it began to look like it would be very difficult for me to get a gun in and out of PR, so I never pursued it any further. In fact I'll be over next week. This is without a doubt, the best shooting forum on the net. So much to read and learn, you could make a full time job of it ! JimInFL
  23. From my extensive education and working background in chemistry (about an hour long topic, in middle school 40 years ago) I remember one thing. An explanation of pH, and this sliding scale on the chalkboard (yes - chalkboard) that ranged between Acid and Alkaline. For simplicity, I think of Alkaline as bleach, and acid as, well, acid. If you had something more or less balanced in both, and you add one or the other, the scale shifted that direction. Here's my dilemma. We've had our pool almost 4 years. It's a salt pool so I don't have to mess so much with chlorine (alkaline - right ?). A little acid here and there, an adjustment on the generator, a bag of shock - no big deal. All performed under the careful direction of world renowned chemical experts at Pinch-A-Penny (very nice folks). How can a pool be low on chlorine, and also need acid ? Or chlorine fine, and need acid ? It's one or the other - right ? This just never made sense to me. Is there a simple explanation for what I'm missing here ? jim in FL
  24. Placing my order with CPWSA now. Ok so just to make sure I get a size I'm going to be happy with. . . I swear size 36 jeans. The pants I wear when I carry concealed IWB and therefore my concealed carry belt as well are 38. Should I get a size 38 CR speed belt? I wear size 40 pants. I use a 44 CR belt and it's just right for me. Not too much, not to little. About 5-6" overlap. HTH. JimInFl
