Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. i use a shoe cover from my work place, they are free, plentiful, and fit well.
  2. trying to be productive in production.

  3. but would they make make it for the box rule for production?
  4. anybody know someone/ some business who does mag tuning? i was spoilled by dawson precision, they tuned a bunch of mags for me when i purchased a pair of pistols from them in the past. recently i tried talking to a rep about getting some new magazines tuned and numbered (engraved) by their shop and was told that they sadly no longer provide magazine tuning services. i believe the only way to get tuned mags from them is to buy the mags, tell them to tune and number them at the time of your gun purchase. any suggestions for quick reliable magazine tuners?
  5. i've used bianchi mag holsters during my 1911 days and loved them, but since switching to 2011's i've had a limcat set-up (holtser & mag poutches on my safariland belt) and never looked back. i'm real happy with the degree of adjustability. i never had a problem with retention or failure. they are versatile as well, i knew they'd take ar mags, but i didn't know they'd take shot shells too! they arent perfect though, mags are prone to slide up/out during deep bends at the waist. as for the matter of going prone, no mag poutch is comfortable in that position. but mindful of those points i don't think there is any better poutch for me as they've served me well for over three years.
  6. i made "C" in lim-10, i had been working on my open skills and decided to try to get classified in another category. it took me two months but i'm happy with the result-47.361. now if i could get consistant with my open shooting!
  7. my first ipsc experience wasn't as awe inspiring, but i was certainly life changing. it was at a club organized shooting fair hosted at my local range. i tried the two ipsc "stages" set up with a custom limited 40 cal. i liked the movement and the members were very friendly. from that experience i discovered another facet of shooting that i wanted to explore and grow in. just this past year i joined the uspsa, got classified, participated in my first state match, my first match outside my local club, directed several matches at my local club with stages designed by myself. i look forward to continuing to improve in this dynamic and exciting sport.
  8. what shooting socks does anyone suggest?
  9. i also use both, but i favor my nike acg trigo II mids , they are as light as my landsharks mids, and they have better lateral support for side to side movement. they are more comfortable on harder surfaces than my cleats and i have no hesitation going full speed on stairs or concrete . and if you plan to shoot idpa also, i beleive you can't wear cleats .
  10. i picked up a sti titanium firing pin today a my local gun supply shop. this one has a bevel at the end and the package looks older so i would imagine it's from a different batch from the bogus 2 i got . there's a match this sunday to try out my new firing pin, hopefully no problems.
  11. i picked up a sti eagle 6.0 with a unique slide and all the other goodies to make it a 6" edge in essence several months ago. however after several hundred rounds ~ 500 (reloads and factory) later the gun stops shooting. after a quick diagnosing i found the back of the firing pin flattened . upset, i sent it back to the company i bought it from (DP) and had them replace the pin and place a lighter hammer. all is well for a while and at a big match for me it crapped out again! talking to a few other shoots they gave me some hypothesis' for this recurrent nightmare. some said it was a crappy pin in the first place and suggested i get another pin with a beveled end to prevent another incident, another thought it was the small rifle primers in my reloads, but i shot with only factory ammo at this match and put less than 200 of my own loads before hand, others than thought my firing pin spring was the culprit, "too heavy" or "too long". i'm lost, can anybody help me out. this event cause my to drop a stage and ruined my concentration during the second day at the match.
  12. i use'm on my "legal 140 mm's and they work great , and thry do fit 26 but your thumbs will be hurting if you got more than three to reload .
  13. depending on the distance held away from you eyes the standard rectical may look a little fractured "blurry". try holding it about arms length, i assume its for a pistol, and the recticle should should be better defined and less blurry. clean the lens carefully as well as the diode housing for the laser as mentioned above. hope that helps, good shooting!
  14. that, and if you shoot 38 super like i do, you don't have to switch either.
  15. got my second match under my belt, it was an easy set up, but tough course of fire the closest targets were 8 yards and the the furthest were 40 yards (2 stages and one was a standard) but average distances were about 20 yards. eveyone liked the stages and was up to the challenge. others found out they need to practice beyond 15 yards from time to time. i think the next match will be a speedy one, the sun made taping the targets in previous match a chore .
