  1. A lot of people have cataracts and don't realize it that's why you can have significantly more trouble shooting indoors vs. outdoors. Cataracts will reduce the amount of light entering the eye. If you decide to have cataract surgery there are lens replacements that are multifocal or you can decide to go mono vision. Mono vision is where one replacement lens is for close vision the other lens is for distance vision. Your brain will condition itself to the difference and because of this conditioning it won't affect your driving, or walking, but will significantly improve your shooting. Have you ever noticed when shooting around a barricade that on one side your shoot placement is good but the other side your shoot placement is poor or you miss altogether that's because on one side of the barricade you are looking through you dominant eye and on the other side of the barricade you are looking through the weak eye Because the barricade has masked you dominant eye your brain switches your vision to the non-dominant eye. That’s just my opinion .

  2. Been looking for a decent holster for my Ruger and decided I like the CR Speed. Only one problem because of the comp the CR Speed didn't have the length. so, decided to make an extension and stepped muzzle platform. The platform is for a 22, 9, 40, and 45. Took me a few weeks but I am happy with the finished results. The extension adds 3 inches to the length of the holster.

  3. OK I got the bushing from Clark.

Now I want to get a Volquartsen trigger kit because the stock trigger is sooo bad.

Should I order the MK2 or the MK3 trigger kit?

I would like the use bolt release because my kid has a little trouble releasing the stock one. But from an earlier post I got the impresion that the MK 2 kit release wouldnt work on the MK3.

Does anyone have any advise for me on this?

The bolt release that comes in the trigger kits doesn't fit the MKII or MKIII 22/45's it is only for the MK Steel Frames.

  4. The grips on my Ruger MKIII 22/45 are aftermarket grips that fit over the existing polymer grip frame grips. I didn't want to mill or file off the polymer frame grips so I designed grips for the Ruger MKIII 22/45 polymer grip frame.

  5. I had the same problem with the Fiocchi slugs, and spreaders not ejecting. Had no problem with other reduced recoil slugs or spreaders. The 1100 is chambered for 2 3/4 " and I found that the Fiocchi are inconsistent in length after being fired and therfore are a little longer than a normal 2 3/4" and won't eject. That's my findings and I'm sticking to it.

Are you talking about the Fiocchi White Rhino (purple box) spreaders? Mine have always run in everything I put them in but unlike yourself, I have never put them in an 1100.

Those are the spreaders I'm talking about and from my limited experience the 1100 is the only one that won't eject them. I'm not saying ever hull but out of a box of 25 there will be quite a few that fail to eject. I have thought about having the ejection port opened up a bit or even having the ejector moved back about 1/8 inch but then I quite shooting Fiocchi and thats how I solved the problem. Maybe Benny Hill can explain what can be done to fix it.

  7. Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Brookston, Indiana is having a special classifier match April 13 thats the second Sunday of the month. They are a new USPSA Club go to their web site and check out their 3-gun schedule. They have a 300 yard range which is used for 3-gun. Their web is www.wvrpc.org. and the contact for 3-gun is on the 3-gun schedule.

  8. The WE hi-capa is really a nice GBB pistol. A couple of things that can be done one is short stroke the blow back by putting a piece of tubing over the guide rod. All you need is enought slide movement to re-engage the hammer. Another tip pull the main spring and put in a BB then re-install the main spring. This will keep from going auto. A lighter slide spring helps also. The valves in the mags can be replaced to up the FPS. Check out www.nwiactionsportssupply.com any questions email him and get the answers.
