  1. I'm in South Florida so carrying concealed is problematic. For smallest I carry my wifes' Taurus 738 w/ Crimson Trace and Federal Hydra-Shok HP's. My usual carry is a Ruger LC9 w/ Crimson Trace and Federal 9MM+P HP's. My Lightweight Colt Officers' Model 45 and Taurus PT-145 Pro print w/ a T shirt so I use only them in cross draw holsters while driving.

Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions!

  2. Yes, that can be done. Going back to 9mm will be a problem if you ever decide to. A new top end in 40 would be the most versatile option.

The frame rails can be welded up and refitted to make the 9mm slide tighter.

Best bet is to do as suggested new top end in 40 but have it accu-railed.

  3. The purpose of the accu rail is tight groups at farther distances. Do a little trig based on the movement in the slide at lockup when the trigger is engaged and the greater the distance to the target the greater the angle will be and the less accurate the shot.

  4. You can demagnetize it using ac or drop it real hard. In order for it to become magnitized you had to have it around a source of ac and shut off the power when it was still near. You can try using what is called a degausing coil it is nothing more than a coil like a solenoid power it up bring it close to the firing pin then move it away from the firing pin at least a foot and turn off the power to the solenoid and that will demagnitize if for you.

  5. Don't forget there are two different model MKIII 22/45's one has permanent grips the other has replacable grip panels it is the RP model. Will take any 1911 grips with minor modifications. Same magazine for the MKII 22/45, MKIII 22/45 & MKIII 22/45RP.

  6. Thank you very much! I was short on time and a quick search showed very little at the time. This is exactly what I have been looking for.

Tech-Custom has a couple different style grips for the MKIII 22/45's a thumb rest, finger grove with backstrap and magwell check out the web site Tech-Custom.com
