  1. Richard,

The V3 is awesome setup. It bluetooths to your phone. Download the app, and its simple as typing in the charge weight and off you go...no more having to re-enter or rezero you scale everytime you want to change charge weights...just type in weight and go...this version also doesn't drift like V1 or 2 did..I threw 600 rounds getting ready for nationals this past fall..it under threw 8 loads by 2 tenths max and over threw 6 by 2 tenths grain max out of the 600..all rest loads fell either dead on or one powder kerrnel over or under..

  2. I'm currently looking pretty hard at a Akai Open in 9 Major base on my past experience with Akai guns. I had a Katana several years back and absolutely loved it - biggest mistake I eve made selling it - Looking at the newer Tungsten middy stroked pistols - for those of you that have run both, non tungsten verse tungsten, can you give me your thoughts...$8000 is a lot of money to spend a any gun and being that I've never shoot a Tungsten barrel pistol before, trying to get all the feedback I can.

    Thanks

  3. Anyone else see that praticscore is asking you to pay now?

**UPDATE -When I logged in, I was carried straight to support page where they show different levels of support..mistook what Ken was asking for..he is asking for support, but it’s not required..

    Mods delete if needed...

  4. A compressed load will be a higher pressure load...generally speaking...obviously which powder it is is a key factor..generally slower powders which we are talking about in 38sc end up compressed..such a load can lead to high es/sd

  5. Aside from cost analysis, is there really any benefit of 38SC over 9major? I know this can start a huge debate, but lets just say that both guns run perfectly - which I've found that a 9 runs just as good as a 38sc in my experience if you've got good tuned mags. I know a lot of the GM and top shooters seem to prefer SC, some claiming its more reliable, some say cause it can be loaded to shooter flatter. I've often wondered if they had to buy the brass(and they may), if we'd be seeing a lot more guys shooting 9...I'm lazy and hate picking up brass..been shooting 9 for years now..

  6. It may be over kill, but A&D FX-120i is one of the best powder scale built. Can read to 1/2 kennel of powder(.000) and is very stable, repeatable scale. As with any high quality ac scale, you'll need a clean power supply. This scale combined with Autothrower and Auto Trickler, I reload thousands of rounds of rifle ammo a year and all loads are loaded to within one kennel of powder...ie...001 either way..

  7. Buy the correct bore guide for your action, and then use a quality cleaning rod and bronze brushes. More barrels are destroyed with improper cleaning than by shooting. Let the barrel tell you what it needs. Shot it one time, and then run a patch  soaked with boretech down the barrel and let it set for a 30 mintues or so. Run another soaked patch down the barrel and set how much blue(cooper) you getting out...if first patch gets most of copper, I'll fire and clean this way for 3 shots and then carry rifle to a match. My Leder barrel that I just installed on my 300WSM 1000 yard rifle cleaned after the very first patch. I've had others that I had to fired 10 or more times cleaning between each until barrel shown broken in..After you clean your barrel, then use a chamber mop to clean/dry your chamber out. Don't forget to lube your bolt lugs at each cleaning as well.

This is the procedures that most of my McMillan Team mates use as well - between the 6 or us, we'll install and break in an average of 25-30 barrels a year.

  8. Shoot both quite a bit. I think the steel grip tames the gun a lot all the way around. For me it not only adds weight, but its seems to absorb recoil/shock going into the hand on my open pistols. Alumi has also been know to crack, were I have not heard of a steel one cracking.

  9. Anyone have an ideal where a person could find this item in stock? If I can't find one before next match, the Alpha X is gone...it digs into my hip and hurts like hell after 4 or 5 stages..

Or if you have one you'll sell, I'll double your money on it so I don't have to buy a complete new holster setup..

So I have been running Silhouette in my Chaos

7.6gr with 124gr PD JHP at 1.169 for about 171pf

One complain is I get gun full of what looks like yellow specs, like sand look. Everywhere, Just nasty.

Is it worth trying CFE Pistol, or HS-6 ?

This...the yellow specs are everywhere after just a few rounds..I'm going back to Autocomp though it does appear that I have a fast barrel as 7.0 AC with 124MG is giving me 1390fps average..
