Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Would the Trijicon Accupoint TR21R 1.25-4x24 also qualify for the 20% off?
  2. Yep, just saw one of these at my local dealer, sportingarms.com, they had one in 45acp. I already have two without the rail and I really like them.
  3. I can see both cracks quite clearly on the back of the feedlips diagonally spreading out toward the outside of the magazine. The one on the top of the photo is worse than the one on the bottom of the magazine. That's pretty bad and I'd expect the manufacturer to replace that.
  4. BTW, the CZ-97B magazines work great in the Witness Elite Match just fine. I did notice the feed lips are a bit tighter on the Witness supplied magazines making them a bit harder to load, but having an UP-LULA makes this a non-issue. The CZ-97B magazines are a bit easier to load due to the less tight space between the feed lips. Anyhow, it's nice having magazines which work between different firearms. Especially different designs such as the Tanfoglio and the CZ designs. I recently had to send two Springfield Armory hicap 45's back to SA for warranty service due to frame cracks. They no longer support the hicaps, so I'm getting a deal on two TRP Operators in an exchange + cash deal. That leaves me with 20+ hicap 45 magazines for a hicap SA or ParaOrdnance that I no longer have firearms for. So ... I'll either have to sell the old hicap mags or buy a PO or hicap RIA or hicap Armscor or something else which can use the old hicap SA mags. In any case I'm happy to have the Witness Elite Match and CZ-97B's due to magazine interchangeability.
  5. I did adjust my overtravel just a bit on both right now. There was an ever so slight bump and I wanted to eliminate this so I can have a reliable trigger pull for years to come.
  6. I had no problem with either one the way I set them. No problems with ignition at all. My son and I fired a couple of hundred rounds through each this past Friday. Only had one FTF, not sure why, but not too bad for the first time to fire them. Right. Hold the hammer back and press the trigger and hold it back against the stop screw. Now ease the hammer forward and see if you can feel the sear bump on the hammer hook or drag past it. If you can, back the screw out a little until it clears. You want the hammer to just clear the sear without forcing it's way past it. This may leave your reset a little longer than you are used to if you are a 1911 guy, but you'll get accustomed to it very quickly and it won't matter at all for your split times. The stock screw should be plenty long for correct adjustment. Good luck.
  7. Shot both today and have to say I like the pistols, but hate the sights. I'm gonna look for other sights, any ideas where I can get some new sights?
  8. I noticed the pre-travel adjustment is a very fine adjustment. What I mean is, there are very tight tolerances when adjusting the pre-travel. I just got two Witness Elite Matches and did the pre-travel adjustment on both. Just a slight amount too much results in the trigger not resetting. So I had to back off the adjustment very slightly until I got reliable trigger reset. When changing the safety you are slightly changing the trigger travel as related to the sear and hammer. So, I'd think a slight amount of re-adjusting of the trigger pre-travel might be needed as suggested by others. Work with the pre-travel adjustment a bit, and I bet you'll get it close to where it was.
  9. I have to say they look nice. Not quite as well finished as my CZ97B's, but nice nevertheless. I got two in sequential serial numbers. One has a slightly better trigger than the other. One thing I'd like to know, does someone make a slightly longer overtravel screw for the trigger? It appears I need screws maybe 1/8" longer or so to eliminate all the overtravel. I made the mistake of unscrewing one from the trigger by tightening it too much. It fell out of the back of the trigger. It was not easy to get it back in, but I finally did. I now need to find out if my CZ97B magazines will work in my Witness Match models.
  10. Yep, spoke with EAA CS today, they verified the sights are as you guys state. The older supersights are no longer being used on the Witness Elite Match.
  11. Are they the ones in this pic? http://www.eaacorp.com/handguns-witness-elite-match-EI.html Or the ones in this pic? http://san1.atlanta.gbhinc.com/GB/09527600...ix710431796.jpg Two different types seen here: http://czechpistols82792.yuku.com/topic/17...-9mm-sight.html
  12. Not so sure about that. I've had good service from Kimber and Les Baer and excellent, excellent service from Springfield Armory. In addition, I've had good service from Kel-Tec and Mech-Tech Systems, etc. Really the only bad service I've had in the firearms business has been Colt. Because of this, I no longer do any business with Colt and don't buy any of their products.
  13. Thanks for all the replies. I'll stick with .45acp as that's what I like to shoot. I may get a 9mm upper conversion if I find I like the Witness Elite Match pistols. I already have quite a few Witness/Mec-Gar magazines which work fine with my CZ97B's, so I'm really hoping the mags work fine with the Witness as that's how the mags are marked. I'm not a big advocate of .40S&W and would go 9mm if I want a smaller caliber, hi capacity pistol. I stick with calibers which are readily available if the SHTF. Readily available NATO calibers and readily available surplus east block calibers. .22LR .380 (9mm court) 38 special 9mm (9x19) 45acp 308/7.62x51 7.62x39 5.56x45/.223 etc.
  14. What are the "large" frame and "small" frames I see mentioned? What are the EAA Witness Elite Match in .45acp frames?
  15. Evidently I have an account here on the Brian Enos forums I forgot about. I must have posted at some point in one of the other forums. Anyhow, I'm considering purchasing two Witness Elite Matches in .45acp. in the next few weeks. I have two CZ-97B's, one in Ploycoat, one RSR special Nickel. I love the CZ's and have been interested in the EAA/Tanfoglio Witness line for a while. I like the Elite Match pistols, although I've have never held or seen one in person. I did see a regular Witness in SS and was impressed by the size of the frame. It appears a bit smaller than the CZ-97B. I shoot the 97B's very well even though I don't have large hands. I usually shoot single stack 1911's but have a couple of hicap 1911's and that's what got me into trying the 97B's in the first place. I had read a lot of complaints the frames on the 97B's were too large. I found them just fine to shoot, with no issues. When I saw the standard SS full-size Witness in .45acp I was sure the grip was just slightly smaller. Anyhow, I liked how it feels, just as good as the 97B's to me. Anyhow, here are my questions: 1.) Will my CZ-97B magazines work in the Witness Elite Match pistols? I'm thinking they should as the magazines I've purchased from Brownells state Witness on them and are made by Mec-Gar. 2.) Does the Witness Elite Match have a firing pin block (i.e. drop safety)? 3.) Where's the best place price-wise to get two Witness Elite Match's? Hopefully sequential serial numbers. 4.) Is EAA's customer service as bad as I've read it is? BR Juicespeare1
