  1. Smith & Wesson Customer Service rep emailed back to confirm that the M&P Pro 40 5" has reached the 2000 unit requirement for USPSA Production Division. Although he had no idea about the approval process. Just an update for all of us that have been waiting.

  2. I purchased a NIB 40 Pro on-line a coupe of days ago.

The included fired case is dated December 2011.

Is that recent enough to avoid the known issues or are there some I still need to be on the look out for?

  3. wound up giving the mag release catch and the mags a tiny tweak before a match. Now they stay in. Still thinking it was the springer mag release like was mentioned but we didnt have time to tear it off before a match and in the grass, was enough of a PITA in the house hahaha.

    What did the tweaks entail?

  4. Had the same issue with one of my very first extended mag releases several years ago (do not remember who's it was). Swapped it out with another from the same maker and the problem went away.

On another note, within the last couple of months I have had two brand new Springfield mags to this. It gave me fits for a couple of matches until I finally realized it was not my pistol.

  5. Had a chance to fondle one at the LGS today - the trigger was odd when dry firing in the fact that it stayed ALL the way to the rear of the trigger guard (like it was stuck) until the slide was racked. None of my XDs or XDMs do this.

  6. On the USPSA website look under the NROI tab for the production gun list.

This is what it currently shows for the M&Ps:

    M&P 357 Sig Compact 3" (24.7 oz.), M&P 357Sig 4" (28.7 oz.), M&P 40 4" (27.5 oz.), M&P 40 Compact 3" (24.4 oz.), M&P 45 4" (27.9 oz.), M&P 45 Compact 3" (27.3 oz.), M&P 45 Full Size (28.9 oz.), M&P 9 Compact 3" (24.2 oz.), M&P 9L 5" 9mm (28.2 oz.), M&P 9mm 4" (27.2 oz.), M&P Pro series 5" 9mm (29.2 oz.)

  7. I just went through all this myself and after trying the washers (which did work but wasn't ideal) I came across spacers by Speed Shooters Specialties for M&P mags. (M&P mags also don't fit the CR pouches but do fit my stock XDm pouch) So I bought them and they work PERFECT! Very cheap and I think a way better option to the fender washers. Just my $.02

Do you happen to have a part number, or maybe a link to the part?

  8. I thought more about how much I'd pay to simplify my life and save somewhere between 10 and 30 hours of hand scoring this season, and the price of a refurbished iPod touch started to look pretty cheap. I was interested in the Android tablet, but having to root it and run into potential software probs down the road made the iPod look even cheaper. Running everything on the same OS and using iTunes to transfer made it so cheap, I couldn't afford not to buy an iPod.

Probably a wise choice, but I got a lot of people at one club who already have android smartphones and tablets, so I have to get familiar with that side of it as well. Is there any non-specialized android tablet around that is wifi only and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Post #15 has a link to a decent deal.

  9. I'm looking to lighten the mag release spring a bit, when it's cold I have a hard time getting the mags to drop free consistently. Does anyone have a link to a source that would show me how to do this properly?

    Thanks

    U-Haul

...and move to Central Texas where mags drop freely in the warmer weather. :roflol:
