Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I lived in the Phoenix area for several years the best place I have ever shot at is Rio hands down. It is very well organized and you get to shoot next to some of the best shooters there is. Just being able to shoot in the presents of Rob L. is bound to make you better. Another excellent spot is the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club they have both IDPA and IPSC Phoenix R&G clubFor indoor shooting there is shooters world in downtown Phoenix Shooters world at the time they had IDPA on Tuesday nights, I’m not big on IDPA but in the middle of summer it nice to shoot in the air-conditioning!
  2. Here is a funny video that proves these Nigerian solicitations to be true....Well, maybe. Nigerian video
  3. I am far from being a master of any trade, but I have been a journeyman toolmaker for 10+ years. That being said based on past experiences I would do the following to my gun and feel confident in getting great results. After being certain of all of my measurements! I would set the slide to the desired angle and use a new #3 center drill followed by a cobalt .250-diameter drill (new or freshly sharpened). The reason for the cobalt drill is three-fold #1 it is much harder than regular highspeed (HSS) steel drills #2 it is less prone to walking or flexing than HSS and #3 it is not as brittle as carbide. With out getting into an long boring speech about carbide, the Readers’ Digest version is carbide is very very brittle, in the particular application of drilling on an angle only one flute of the drill will enviably engage the slide for the first couple of revolutions. Carbide is very unforgiving with vibration as well as intermitted cuts and will likely shatter and even worse if this does happen the possibility of a small piece of carbide may embed itself in your work-piece. When this happens it is nearly impossible to remove the carbide chip from your work-piece with out some collateral damage. Next I would follow the .250 drill with two more undersized drills (cobalt) and finish the hole with a good cobalt endmill. Hope this at least helps out in your planning.

    Welfare

A guy walks into the local welfare office, marches straight up to the counter and says, "Hi... You know, I just HATE drawing welfare. I'd really rather have a job." The social worker behind the counter says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur and bodyguard for his beautiful nymphomaniac daughter. You'll have to drive around in his Mercedes, but he'll supply all of your clothes. Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll be expected to escort her on her overseas holiday trips, and you will have to satisfy her sexual urges. You'll be provided a two-bedroom apartment above the garage. The starting salary is $200,000 a year." The guy, wide-eyed, says, "You're bullshi_ _in' me!" The social worker says, "Yeah, well... you started it."
  5. Thanks for the reply Action, I will try your suggestion on letting it sit idle for 30 min and then calibrate it. Presently I have been calibrating it constantly in every “reloading session” and it seems to waist a lot of my time. Hopefully trying your method will be the cure! In the mean time I think I will start saving my pesos for a Dillon scale.

    ebay

This makes about as much sense as not allowing car parts to be sold on their site if there was an automobile involved in an crime that had an used power steering pump purchased off Ebay’s site. I am a regular on Ebay but this is just about enough to make me close my account. I choose not to purchase from stores around my house that have anti-gun ties like Target and a few others.
  7. I have a RCBS digital scale that has an issue, I would like to know if any of you have seen this before. This scale is around 10 years old and has never been dropped or anything of that nature. Here is the problem, let say I put an measure of power on the scale and it equals 4.7 if I let the scale sit for about 10-15 seconds it says 4.8, if I let it sit another 10 seconds it will read 4.9 and so on. It appears that the first measurement is always correct as I am somewhat anal and get a “second opinion” from my beam scale. My questions are is this common? Would it be worth sending in to get fixed? Is this a sign that it is time to get a new digital scale?
