  1. For those that ordered from Widener's, how long has it taken to recieve them. Thier site says thier are a week behind processing orders, but I was wondering how long it is really taking. I placed an order last week and havn't seen anything yet.

8-9 days. Very good for the amount of orders I am sure they processed!!

  2. Happiness is just receiving 20K of SR, SP and LP Wolf primers from Wideners. :):):) I sure was happy to see the Fed-Ex van today.

Mine should arrive tomorrow. Not that many, but I am still crossing my fingers until they get here!

    Thanks Tokarev!

  3. I haven't bought anything from Ray-VIn in a while, but I won a sight smoker a time back. Needed something done and it was fixed quickly without charge. His products are excellent and customer service even better.

If you don't have any luck there, there is a PPC competitors group on Yahoo. They use the smokers and might know where else to get the carbide.

    Good luck.

  4. 9mm cheaper to reload and like said earlier 9mm brass is everywhere.

How is it cheaper to reload? Bullets, primers and powder cost the same. If you have to buy brass (even used) there's very little difference. Super/SC brass lasts a long time and 9mm brass is pretty well used up after a handful or reloads. Once fired 9 from Brassman is $56 and new Starline Super is $125. You'll get more than twice as many uses out of the Super easily....that's pretty much a wash.

The only real exception is if you can get the 9 for free, but that's dried up for lots of the people that used to rely on it. I can barely get a couple of thousand 9 a year (all I really need) and it used to be all I could carry. R,

It's only the same if you can recover your cases. Even at local matches where brass is picked up, I never get that many back. Too busy RO'ing and scoring etc.

  5. Not afraid to fly, but I hate it.

It has to be worth the 2 hour drive to the airport, 2 hour drive home and the wait, the TSA inspection, the crowded seats, the overly large person taking up half your seat to make me fly.

Not a fan of long distance driving, but at least I control the vehicle, and can stop when I want to.

  6. Since this is in the 45 thread, I used to use Precision Delta loaded ammo in 45ACP. It was a 185 grain bullet. I think the later version was a Hornady bullet, but am not 100% sure. It was light, but seemed more than accurate enough.

  7. There are some made in Canada, I believe they are "Viper" extensions. One of the Canadian shooters makes them.

He shoots at the Western New York Practical Pistol League. Contact them, maybe they can get you the info. I saw them in the vendor's tent at the nationals in Tulsa this year. The link below is to the club e-mail.

  8. Trigger time. HUH it was minus 12 this morning with 15 inches of snow. See the range in April. :angry2::angry2::angry2:

Well, it's not quite that bad here in New Mexico but it was only 19 this morning. It warmed up to the mid-30's but then a south wind kicked up and kept it chilly all day.

That'll add to trigger freeze!!!

    Merry Christmas!
