  1. Man, I hate painting also. In the process of moving and getting the house ready for sale. Wifey made me put in a new lamp in the kitchen. Left holes in the ceiling. Guess what, time to paint the whole ceiling.

    I HATE PAINTING!!! :angry::angry::angry::goof:

  2. I used the collet puller on my 550. Cycled the cases around and then dropped them into the akro bin. Took the cases and powder and ran them through the birdcage (media separator) and had primed brass. Took the powder and had fireworks.

Worked pretty slick once I found the tempo and tightness needed on the collet puller.

I got the collet puller because the cam type wasn't available in 40.

  3. What do you all find to be the most cost effective way to buy bullets: on-line stores or local gun shops? I just priced some bullets from Midway but the shipping seemed pretty high to me. If you all get them on-line what are some other sources that I might try. I'm going to be loading .38 Spec for revolvers.

    Thanks, Kim

Doesn't Midway offer the USPS Flat Rate now for shipping?

  4. I just hate that they always wait until there is a failure or shortcoming in the system to implement something that should have been implemented to start with.

That's how policies are made. A mistake or weakness is found and rules are adapted. Or someone screws up!

    Are we having fun yet???????

  5. I found that a Sierra 115 grain with 4.2 Titegroup was most accurate. Rainer 115 JHP was a close second. I got one three shot group from prone @ 50 yards at 1.5 inches.

As always, it depends on what your gun likes. Quality components are always good starting points.

  6. 5.9 did it. 850 average for 10 shots.

BTW, also check a 5.2 N320 load with Laser Cast, same results, 850 avg 10 shots.

Guess I will stick with those.

The Laser Cast shot a 3-4 inch group off the bench (just the butt of the gun on the bench) at 50 yards. Pretty impressive. Gun is a S&W Performance Center 1911.

  7. I tried 5.8 today, chrononed avg of 813. Going to bump it up to 5.9.

Wolf primers, two five shot strings. Not a lot, but the last time I chronoed 5.9, it was a little higher than I wanted. We'll see what happens. I didn't use Wolf primers last time, so that may be the change.

If I get out tomorrow, I'll post the results.

  8. I ran off 100 this morning. The nickel ones, just received from Wideners. Small sample, but no problems in mixed brass, some was Winchester as I did check for that.

    No problems with ignition.

No high primers with a 550. I checked all the rounds. Did have to work to seat a few.

Stock STI Lexor, I think it is a 19 pound main spring, no change on the firing pin spring.

    Good luck,

    AP
