  1. just looking at the stage descriptions. Stage 2, how do you set up a target that a person could get a hit on, but can not see? I understand the concept of being walked on target, I just don't get how the stage could be set-up that way.

  3. Shooters, On November 14th, Tidewater 3 Gun (T3G) will be hosting a monthly 3-gun match at the U.S. Training Center located in Moyock, NC. These matches will be held on the second Sunday of the month, and will be following International Multigun (IMG) rules. Slings for long guns will be required, and a rigid holster with strong retention will be required for your secondary weapon. Due to the host ranges minimum distance engagement rules no carbine caliber larger than .223/5.56 is allowed unless otherwise specified. You will be able to drive your vehicle from stage to stage. We will have four stages which may contain any of the buildings, cars, helicopters, and equipment available on USTC's 47 ranges. The shooters meeting will be at 8:45am with hot time immediately following. We are limiting this match to the first 50 shooters to send a complete slot request to 3gun*at*cox.net Match fees will be $25. The U.S. Training Center is a secured facility, and you must submit your name and complete address to be added to the access list. If you are not on the access list you will not gain entry onto the property. This includes shooters AND observers. All traffic laws and signs will be obeyed from the time you turn onto Puddin Ridge Road, and while on the entire U.S. Training Center property. You will have to get on the ground and you will have to shoot from unusual positions. Targets will range from 1 yard to 400 yards. Please magnet check your rifle ammo to be positive it contains NO steel. No green tip or steel core ammo is allowed. Any competitor caught using this ammo on our steel targets will be forever banned from any match I have any control over. The shooters meeting will be at 8:45 am and hot time will be IMMEDIATELY afterwards. Please arrive no later than 8:15 am for registration. When you arrive on site go in to the office and register. Please do not stand around and wait until the last minute. Have all gear ready and magazines loaded BEFORE the shooters meeting. Expect to be the first shooter.   7. because by design single point, two point, and three point slings used in the matter that we use them points the muzzle down. Save the muzzle up two point for your hunting rifle.
  8. How do you guys handle hot slung carbines, and the issue of the 180? In my opinion a carbine can be slung hot with the safety on, and it should be pointed relatively downward. Some two and three point slings point the carbine back a foot or two behind the shooter.

N C RECON 15TH ANNUAL 3-GUN COMPETITION SPONSORED BY BLACKHAWK PRODUCTS GROUP September 26, 27 2009 @ “THE RANGE”, OXFORD, NC In the NC Recon format, each shooter gears up each day with one long gun/pistol and all related equipment for the whole day on their body. Snacks/water/ammo---what you leave the car with is all you have for the whole day, THERE WILL BE NO RE-SUPPLY, (except water). Carry anything, or as much of anything as you wish, but remember, you must carry it all day. Long guns remain slung except during “stand downs” between stages, where packs can be taken off, mags reloaded, etc. 10 Stages will be semi-surprise with detailed briefings. Paper and steel targets out to 200 yards, shoot time + penalty for total time score. SATURDAY: Carbine-200 rounds with 5 mags : battle rifle-150 rounds with 5 mags (carbine two hits/paper, battle rifle one hit/paper) ** NO ARMOR PIERCING/GREEN TIP AMMO ** 50 rounds pistol (NO MAJOR/MINOR). 4 inch fixed blade knife and canteen/hydration system. 0800-1700. Dinner Provided 1700. SUNDAY: 12GA. Shotgun, 60 heavy shot (#4’s), 20 heavy buckshot (all buck okay) and 10 slugs. 50 rounds pistol, knife and hydration system. 0800-1400, AWARDS @ 1500 HOURS. ALL STEEL TARGETS EXCEPT FOR SLUGS. Handguns…no optics or comps. Must remain holstered throughout. Rifles, anything allowed, but must remain the same configuration. 12 GA. Shotgun—No speedloaders and no optics.
  15. +1 Slugs go pretty far, but it depends on how much of an upward angle you shoot them.
