  1. I shot at the Infinity open and someone in my squad went to the next stage and had an empty chamber, I saw another shooter at the same stage tried to draw with a locked holster.  Hmmm.... call it brain fart or whatever but it's sure is hell for us mortals. =) josh

  2. Anyone offers the C-More serendipity with the stock plastic legs drilled with Weigand mount pattern?  You would think C-More will have models cast/molded with this pattern because it was so popular during the late 80s/early 90s.  I know what someone will suggest, get a STI single side mount with the Weigand pattern and get a slide ride C-more.  I like the standard plastic legs to get it low instead of that extra 1/8" rise needed for the single side mount. josh

  3. Open should remain unlimited-meaning no 10 round mag limit.  Get rid of limited and just go L10, keep production class to get new shooters in with their so called bedside pistols 9mm or >, revo shooters have IRC so if revo wants to compete then they can either go production, limited 10 or open.  Let's not complicate this sport by changing rules so much or creating too many divisions.  josh

  4. I have Caspian mags with Wolfe 10+ springs and never removed out of the mag body except for cleaning that is for 8 years now and they still haven't failed me.  I fired just a little under 10k rounds in IPSC for 8 years.  I'm a very thrifty shooter ain't I? jmm

  5. The first time I shot IPSC I was very disgusted due to the gaming nature of most shooters.  At the time of the equipment race those P9s with hi cap mags were kicking butts and my single stack comp gun couldn't compete.  Now the table is even as long as you have the money to burn on those hi cap comped hud targeting open guns.  What I really don't understand is for stage designers leaving too much for gaming, such as 6 targets to be engage at 50 yards free style through barrel then run to 25 yards engage strong hand only, then rush to 5 yards engage weak hand only.  The stage winner shot 12 hail mary rounds as fast as he could through the barrel at 50 yards, then at 25 yards more hail mary shots as fast as hummingbird beats it's wings, then another hail mary weak hand shots at 5 yards as fast as 22-250 bullet arrives at 300 yards, then he made a reload and engage all 6 targets again just to make sure he had 6 holes on each target.  There was nothing in the procedure saying he couldn't do that.  What a gamer man, that's how most competitive shooters would shoot it.  I could not believe how much brass was piling up at the 5 yard box with just our squad.  I shot it with ethics and I placed 70% of the stage winner.  Sometimes you got to choose between ethics or fall behind.  If I would have known a stage like that exist, I would've brought more rounds. josh

  6. I have competed in a major match one step above my real classification.  The match director asked me if I was nuts, I told him I won B class at the last match so he said, "Go for it then!" Would you believe I had the worst gun malfunction and still placed 4th in A class?  Was I disappointed that I didn't win a SVI frame because I didn't come in third in that class? Nope, I settled for the Para frame.  I have emailed USPSA requesting a bump up to A but they said I still didn't make the 75% of the match winner.  Go figure my gun jammed 3 times.  Anyway, I figured if I can still hold it together at a big match then I will get bumped up.  Yes I'm learning to have thicker skin since I have no choice but to have crocodile skin.  Seriously thinking about shooting classifiers multiple times until I get the score I want if that's what it takes.  So if you see a B class shooter ranging with high As and low Ms, don't boo-it might be me. =) josh

  7. WoW! That is some cool machining on that comp.  I just wonder how well it works, when I see a comp like that it's well far away from the KISS theory.  Then again some people are addicted to the IPSC bug and some are just addicted to custom parts and guns. josh

  8. I've been wanting to replace the Tasco PDP3 sight on my other open gun with a C-more or OKO.  I have a C-more on my main gun but I've heard some good things about the OKO, any thing you would like to express about the OKO sight will be welcome.  If I do decide to get another C-more is there a gunsmith out there that sell C-more sights with Weigand hole pattern on it's plastic base?  The reason why I like the standard C-more solid with base is because I don't like my dot sitting any higher than the lowest available mounting. josh

  9. I shoot open class but I do have a limited gun that I've been wanting to use in a match.  I like the idea of open class due to similarity with formula 1 type racing except for the limitation of mag length then anything can be applied.  Limited class is also fun due to it's practicallity in the real handgun world, yes if put in a situation that I may need a handgun for defense I would certainly pick my limited gun because it's the best practical pistol I have.  Anyway, I have the utmost respect to the revo man J.Miculek and to all the top dogs in each division and type of firearms they shoot.  I may beat J.Miculek with my open gun when he shoots his revo, I'm sure he will whoop my butt if he picks up his wife's open gun and dang sure he'll leave me in the dust if I decide to compete with my revo.  That dude is simply amazing with a revo. josh

  10. I've been shooting IPSC on and off for the past 10 years now and I can't get out of class B, BUT I usually place within the M class of shooters in most clubs.  What is wrong with me?  I've won B class in some not so big matches where I even beat A class, but I still can't get out of that 74%.  Sometimes my classifiers are so pathetic that I just barely make C class in the percentage.  I don't want to say the classifiers aren't accurate but what am I doing wrong?  I really want to get my M card, heck I'll take a GM card but I just can't shoot those classifiers high enough.  Do you think there are too many that are Grand bagging, just shooting the classifier over and over at warp speed just to get a hail mary grand master score? josh

  11. We should just have Open class for the racing fanatics, Limited 10 and production.  Seriously, then it won't be so divided, most people that get's into limited that can't or won't spend the absurd prices of pre-ban mags are the ones filing up L10 division.  It will just be up to the ROs to count shots to keep everyone honest in shooting L10 division and production. josh

  12. Someone at the local shooting club mentioned that in a couple of more years we will all be shooting in limited 10, that is 10 rounds max for all divisions.  I've heard someone said that 8 years ago in California and for some reason them hi cap mags are still available but at a higher cost.  I'm not really sure how much more we can improve on the equipment. jmm

  13. If you want to settle for a 357Sig then you won't have to change the slide.  Of course you will have to settle for 26 rounds in a mag instead of 29, but what are those 3 extra rounds worth to you?  Send it to LIMCAT, I've seen him do a full profile comp that will compliment the long dust cover.  josh

  14. With the Craig 170mm for Caspian hi-cap, I can get 26 if I use supercomp brass.  140mm I can get 24, and 19 for the standard.  Sometimes that one extra round is important.  josh

Can I get a test beep?
