  1. Springfield Armory makes a trigger group that they put in the White Feathers M25's, they feel about 3.5 lbs and I think are around 150 or 200. My father has 2 White feathers and 2 more of those triggers in his other M1A's so I know they were made at one time...just not sure of how to get one.

  2. Most of this is preference so I don't mind telling you what I like.

Stainless fluted barrels are awesome, I have the 18" JP .75 dia. and it shoots very good and handles great. Part of the reason it handles great is because of the JP handguard, it is 2" dia like the AR's, most of the 308 handguards are 2 1/2 or so which doesn't sound like much but it feels alot better than the carbon fiber one I had. Be sure to get a comp and other than that have fun with it.

  3. I just finished my builds, They are built from all JP stuff and one has an Aimpoint for the close stuff and one has a IOR Valdada 1.1-4 for most 3-gun matches and the 20" has the IOR Valdada 1.5-8 for the longer matches like Rocky Mountain. I like those scopes because of the reticle...horseshoe and BDC for 300-600. There are scopes that have bigger field of views and a little better clarity but I think they are awesome. The Swarovski & Meopta I had got traded mainly due to the reticle.

  4. Since you really don't like any parts of the upper, try to sell it and get one like what you want.

Or you could buy a 20" dpms barrel and have it installed with maybe a cheap FF tube and the 1-3, you would have a good 3-gun and/or varmint gun.

Like some one said earlier...you can make your AR exactly how you want.

One thing I would do first is see if it shoots. You never want to get rid of accuracy.

  5. I have the non-illuminated one with the circle dot retical and I love it. It has great field of view and great clarity. It is a true one power like the meopta, I've tried several 1-4 like the meopta duplex, meopta K-dot, Lupy 1.5-5, lupy CQT, millet dms, weaver 1-3, accupoint and soon the IOR. I think it is better than all of those of course but how much better and is it worth the money. Thats always the question, For me I had to have the true 1 power...I feel so much faster with that than 1.25 or 1.5 and I also wanted more than 4 power, the differnence of the extra 2 powers is huge. those 300 yard targets are bigger and clearer. I've ran into one time where i wish I had the illumination but I don't think that option is worth the 500 extra dollars.

If you plan on buying a Burris or meopta k-dot or IOR, something around 700 dollars then the Swarovsky isn't worth twice the price. but if you plan on getting something around the 1200 dollar range like the nightforce, US Optics or the eotech magnifier combo then this thing is worth the extra few hundred dollars. This is just my opinion but I believe this scope is the best optic for our sport. They could improve on the reticals alittle, tick marks or stadia lines would be great or even the US optics JPJ1.

  6. I have the DPMS barrel Benny suggested and it is a good barrel giving me MOA accuracy.

I also have used AR15Barrels to take some weight off of a colt barrel and he did a good job and the whole process was less than 2 weeks including shipping.

I think next time I'm going for a JP barrel assembly but who knows...there are alot of good options.

  7. Malak, it was nice meeting you and Ty at Tiger valley last weekend and congrats on you win.

I use one of these http://www.kuehlprecisionfirearms.com/ , it is set up similar to my 3-gun rifle, he will make them however you want and they are a dedicated upper so just put it on your lower and go. My McCormik trigger won't fire consistantly with the walmart federals so I just bought a cheap lower just for the 22. It is fun and a very usefull training tool.

  8. Weaver V3 1-3

    Simmons Master Series ProDiamond 1.5-5x20

Bushnell Banner 1-4x32 Rifle Scope Matte Circle-X

I've only tried the weaver so I might be biased. I have had the Leupold 1.5-5 mrt illuminated and it was a fine scope but that 1 power makes a huge difference for me so I wouldn't even consider the 1.5 simmons. As far as the Bushnell, you usually you get what you pay for and all good 1-4 powers start at 300 so I would say that scope($70) isn't very good. So that leaves the weaver which is cheaper because it only goes to 3 power and is a 1" tube so the price makes sence.

    I vote weaver.

  9. I just put on a clark carbon handguard and it saved me 1/2 pound vs the colt aluminum one with out vents. I used it this weekend and it worked out great. I was just wanting to let anyone know if they were on the fence to get it. It works for lightning your gun and keeping the hand guard cool. It could use alittle texturing but its still a great product.

  10. I got my 1187 running by adding a nordic components ext, I got the +6 so it would be even with my 26" barrel. If I have any problems about being able to add more than limited (9), I can just plug it. I also got a "daves metal works" "easy loader" which is a must for loading quickly and I also got a side saddle. I also put a hi-vis vent rib bead on. It runs great and does me a good job however I now use a Benny Hill worked over Bennelli M1.

  11. This might or might not help you but I have the aluminum colt free float and needed to do the same thing so i drilled the hole where i wanted the stud with the hand guard in place then hot glued the stud backing nut to a metal coat hanger rod and slid it between the hand guard and barrel where the hole was and tightened her up. Since I used the hot glue on the rod first and bearly got any on the backing nut, when i pulled the hanger out the hot glue stayed on it. It worked pretty good.
