  1. I have a small hobby vise that uses suction cups to hold it to the table. I put a two large sharpies in it ( different colors ) and spin each cartridge and end up with contrasting lines all the way around the cartridge. The only trick is to angle each sharpie so both lines will work at the same time. I also wear latex gloves to keep the colors off my hands. Mine is easy to see on the ground.

  2. I have short, fat fingers and have never met a mag release I can reach without a major gun shift. I have gone to the "offside" mag release where I release the mag with the index finger of my right (strong) hand. It works really great for me, although I still have to shift my hand just a little. An added benifit is that your finger will be out of the trigger guard everytime. I had a little trouble finding one for my STI, but I found one.

    thanks,

  3. I have the bag I take to the match with those items I need or think I am going to need. Gun, ammo, hearing/eye protection, brass bag, etc, etc. Then I have the bag I take to the match that I hope I don't need. Tools, parts, gloves, knee pads, etc. Then I have the bag I take to the range for practice with targets, pasters, stapler, timer, etc etc etc. I think I need a large bag on wheels and someone to wheel it. :surprise:

    thanks,

  4. Congratulations on getting started and putting your goals out there for the world to see. You are already ahead of me, I have not had the cajones to put it out. Let us know how you are doing and we will be watching your progression.

Remember, reaching your goals is a lot like eating an Elephant. One bite at a time....

  5. I have the problem. In my case I think I was distracted by other thoughts going into the stage, maybe going into the match, and was never in the program to start with. What I am trying to do is clear my mind and get into a ZONE before the stage/ match. 2 weeks ago I did great. Last week I was not there. I don't know the answer, but wanted to let you know that other people have the same problem.

  6. For years I used thin grips and a short trigger on my 1911s because of small hands - short fingers. I expected a problem when I bought my STI so I put a short trigger in and some grip tape and I am good to go. It is a little bit of a learning curve, but now I am putting thicker grips on my 1911s because they don't feel right. If I had tried one before I bought it I probably would have talked myself out it, but I really wanted one.

    thanks,

    George
