Speaking as someone who works professionally with performance footwear, there is no need for a 8” boot for comp shooting (unless you have some medical problem). Athletic (ie lighter) mid hiking styles will do you better if you want a boot.

I got the Timney and was blown away with how good a striker trigger could be.

Just trying to figure out which uncaptured guiderod is right for this combo. Done a good bit of searching and I’m a little confused since the 17/34 gen5 barrels have different dims
