bmiller
My Vepr leads the forcing cone severely when I shoot slugs where lead touches the barrel. A friend gave me some shells loaded with Lyman sabot slugs, problem solved. I ordered that mold and the lee 7/8 mold. I would actually like to find a low recoil load for the lee slug. I followed the directions from lee and loaded some with hs6. Wow, these are NOT low recoil! Does anyone know a load that uses clays, bullseye, or 700x? Thanks! RJH
Load it like it is birdshot. We use that same mold and load the starting load for 7/8 ounce of birdshot. Softest slugs I have ever shot, make sure it will cycle in your gun though. Also we use either longshot or titegroup I cant remember, but we did just pull the load out of the book, so you might can do the same with WST Edited November 7, 2016 by RJH spelling
Smokecloud
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?138216-7-8-ounce-lee-slug-load-suggestions Start here. There are several other threads that are on topic. Those guys helped me a lot when I was sorting out my Lyman slugs.
