G+16
given the time it take to prep rifle brass, is it worth the extra 50-60 dollors per 1000? I work 8-10 hrs daily sometimes 7 days and drive a hour both ways, the brass would be 223,308 & 7.62x39, it seems like it might be worth the extra coin. any input? thanks Edited November 12, 2009 by G+
GentlemanJim
Well ..its not just time To do large amounts you need a pretty good trimmer...that is not a cheap tool. Beware of some prepped brass...it may not be consistant using pre prepped brass takes a BUNCH of time and effort out of the job. Just find the good stuff Jim
G+16
so jim as long as I take mesurments from new brass and they match the prep-brass, neck to shoulder, neck to rim they will meet sammi standards right
GentlemanJim
so jim as long as I take mesurments from new brass and they match the prep-brass, neck to shoulder, neck to rim they will meet sammi standards right The prepped brass I have used in the past ...did not exactly fit a headspace gauge...little long The shoulders had to be bumped back a couple thou...this is a good thing, as you can set it perfect The only real issue to pre prepped I see is the trim...it has to be real consistant to make good match ammo. Small variations can still make good safe ammo Jim
