ArturoJ
I could not pass up the deal. What I have is a Remington 700, 358 STA McGowan barrel, Leupold 3.5X10 VX-III, Redding dies. Anyone have/had a 358 STA? Load data? I needed this like a kick in the head

tightloop
ArturoJ Looking in the #3 Barnes manual, there are lots of loads. You did not say what you were hunting with it or what bullet weight or how fast you want to go, but here are some starting loads for the bigger bullet weights. 250 gr H4350 79.0 gr 2775fps.......... 84.0gr 2951fps 250 gr IMR4831 81.0 gr 2821 86.0 2995 250 gr Win760 76.0 gr 2781 81.0 2964 225 gr RL19 86.0 gr 2941 91.0 3112 225 gr H4350 82.0 gr 2834 87.0 3007 225 gr IMR4831 82.0 gr 2948 87.0 3128 Hope this gets you started and let us know how it does. ArturoJ
Kelly I always wanted a BFG. I thought a 375 H&H would do, I guess the STA is close enough. I expect to be pounded into the ground like a tent peg (some gun scribe paraphrase). Tightloop (Valdez mode on) Just something for rabbits. (mode off) In reality I have no use for the power, but I would/will use the STA for Elk on up. Thanks for the load information. I think I will start with the mild 225 @ about 2800 load.
