InTheBlack
Opinions on the best brass for .357 mag? What about nickel plating? Are brand differences in case volume significant, at least for action shooting (bullseye might be another matter)? I've had long life from Federal after discharging the factory 125 gr JHP. But they have a bad reputation, at least for rifle brass, for loose primer pockets.
DougCarden
You wont get as long of life with nickel brass, due to the treatment. It will split at the neck sooner than good ole brass, but eventually it will anyway. Unless you are shooting 1960's max 1700fps loads I wouldnt worry about the primer pockets until it becomes a problem. Regards, DougC

Patrick Sweeney
I've had good luck with R-P, but then it's all I use since it's all that fits the moon clips on my revolvers. I've found that the nickeled stuff dies pretty quickly (especially with pin loads)regardless of brand so I burn it up in practice and save the good stuff for match use.
