xsniper
After not shooting the Cup for 10 years I hope to get to Columbia next spring. I know about the black X ring, but was wondering about any rule changes in regards to touching the barricades, or going prone on the practical or plates. Alan550
Welcome back!! Open shooters can & do "touch" the barricade, using "wings" on the gun to stabilize it. Metallic & Production shooters can touch the barricade with their hands but not the gun. Also they aren't allowed to "grasp" the barricade. Prone is allowed to all shooters from the 15 yd line on back on both matches you mentioned. You might want to go to the NRA web site and read up on the rules. The whole rule book is on there in PDF format. Since you got out of it, there's now a 2 lb trigger-pull minimum for single action pistols. Things have really changed over the past 10 years, so go through the rules carefully. There's now a Production class and a Metallic Sight class with different rules covering each. Hope this helped, and we'll see you at Columbia!! Alan~^~
