VA/MD State Match (John Z)

I'm not John Z., didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I was the Stats Officer for the match. Top C went to Greg Melson, not John. The classifer update came out after the match started, and could not be used. I believe both Greg and John got promoted to B with that update. I had hoped to finish better myself, but the proverbial wheels fell off the cart on one stage. As a side note, Area 8 should be quite a battle this year. I'm hoping for a good REVO turnout in August!

1 Joshua Lentz A62444 B 100.00%

2 Greg Melson TY52746 C 84.27%

3 Robert Perdue A27392 M 82.36%

4 Dennis Smith TY16000 A 82.03%

5 Dan Chandler TY31498 B 80.34%

6 John Zaczek A59744 C 80.03%

7 Rob Burkindine TY57754 C 76.15%

8 Richard Timberlake A4438 B 74.31%

9 Paul Schlogel TY59571 C 62.92%

10 Ron Brooks A57303 C 59.98%

11 Tom McLaughlin A51721 C 54.96%

12 Bernie Sisson A40253 C 52.22%

It was a good match.

Is it your policy to mail out the awards or did you need to be present to win?

Hope to see you at area 8, it should be fun.

For those of you who have not met Josh Lentz, I shot with him at the match. It was his first Major USPSA match and I think he said it was his first USPSA match altogether. He came over from ICORE. He shot minor at the match. I was impressed with his shooting! I think he will be force in the future.

I did not get a chance to meet Mr.Lentz. He is a very impressive revolver shooter, especially his performance on stage 7 with 29.76 sec. He is way out of my league and the elite shooters should take notice when he shows up for a match.

As I was working stats during the VA/MD, I didn't get to see him shoot. Needless to say when I entered the scores, I was surprised how well he did. Last weekend at the PA State Steel Challenge, I got to see him shoot. He shot very well, coming in a strong second place to David Olhasso.

Josh did say he was going to be at Area 8. Be sure to bring your "A" game if you're joining us. He's going to make all of us work for it.

I am flattered to be labeled a Sandbagger and am walking tall with that label. The phone started ringing after the Va/Md sate match. Sounds like some B shooters are upset with me and another shooter. I must give credit where credit is due. Mike Carmony for Caromnizing my hammer, Switching from bullseye to VihtaVuori, fiber optic sights, my dremel tool, and your all inspiring performance at the SC state match. I want to switch to 45 G A P but I can't get over the cost of everthing. I really do feel hurt that the Va/md section won't send me my trophy for C class.
