PaulTudor
Two points on SDB - First the wave guides for the ram - The press I bought had been a demo for the dealer - I bought the spare parst kit from Dillon - I decided to replace the wave guides as the press did not work smoothly - did you know that the wave guides have numbers on them and have to be placed in certain positions - and they are marked TOP also. Seond I use a single stage press to size and deprime my 45 acp brass and inspect after. I have pulled the dillon sizing die and replace the expander / powder funnel and replaced with a part from the 1050 #13005 - that part does NOT have the extension to re-expand the brass - these tweo things have really made the press smoother to operate - it makes felling the primer operation and the down stroke VERY easy - alnost as if the press was empty Any comments or questions about these changes. Thank you.
BrianH
Paul; I just cleaned and rebuilt my SDB a few weeks ago with the spare parts kit (it was about 13 years old) and I found the same issue with the wave guides. I took the time to make sure I installed them correctly, and they're still tight. I figured they just need a little working-in...I may try some Slide Glide on them, too. All this effects is the "bounce" from the re-prime stroke....I don't like it, but I'll give it time before I start to bitch....
