Gold Bead Front Sight

I recently had a look at a pistol with a set of Novak sights with a gold bead on the front post. I must say that even indoors that bead really stood out. I was thinking about giving one a try until I had a look at the price ($100 for the front sight only).

Anyone have any first hand experience with this kind of sight?

My 625JM has the golden dot front sight. It's a good sight, I still prefer plain old black on black. I consider the golden sights more nostalgic than anything. But you know the saying, as long as it works for you . . . .

I have less than the best vision.

I have gold beads on a couple of guns. I prefer fiber optic by a slight margin over gold beads. The gold bead doesn't show up as well to me when the light is bad.
