Firearm to and from Canada

Here's a rather weird question...

I found the answer about taking a firearm into Canada for a match, that isn't my question.

Do you have to do the US ATF paperwork as well to bring the firearm back?

No. Stop at the border and declare that you are going to a match, and need to get your pistol back into the US. They will fill out a small form that says you had it before leaving. When you get to the border on the way back, declare your firearm. They will check your form and the serial number on the gun match, and you're on your way.

It's really very easy. I've only had my gun checked 50% of the time returning to the US.

Cheely... talkto to Matt or his GF Tiny Warrior... she lives in Canada and goes to and from all the time. Matt lives here and goes there all the time too.

Yeah Jim... they'll do that...

Thanks guys... that helps a lot... I figured with they way the gov'ment can be sometimes I would have to do it as a "reimportation" or something. That's pretty simple.
