Coolduckboy
Hello, I purchase a slide off these forums and it is a Caspian Slide from Area 2 (desert Classic engraved on the side) and I was wondering what front sight will fit?
Religious Shooter
I picked up one of those... mine has a Novak front sight. If you have a caliper handy measure the base of the sight cut. If it is around ~.330" it is a Novak. If it is ~.300 it is a Heinie cut. AFAIK Caspian only does Novak and Heinie fronts. I have some Heinie style sights and they slip right through the dovetail of the slide (durn! have to buy another front sight ).
Chuck Anderson
Your going to have to measure it. Caspian does a whole bunch of different front sight cuts. And I remember seeing a variety at matches on prize tables. Or just bring it and have Rob look at it. If you're not in a hurry, Bob Londigran from Brazos and Rene from Speed Shooters will be at the Area 1 Match. I normally just bring the slide with and hold the front sights up to compare them. (I'm not very scientific)
Coolduckboy
Thanks for the information, Trying to get the gun up and running (somewhat) for a backup gun for area 1. I will measure the front sight cut.
