I think that the perception of cowboy action shooting is such that people see it as cute since everyone dresses up and it's using "antiques"....never mind that they're still guns. Last year my wife and I were combining a vacation with the CO state championship match and when she told one of her extremely liberal coworkers about it the woman asked "Oh, do you get all dressed up in Western clothes and stuff?". My wife said something like "well, this is a little different"....lol. Maybe we should dress up like Star Trek characters and call our raceguns Phasers or something?
