pwalker
Little Grasshopper, Please explain what you mean by "loaded chamber indicator". What is one? How does it work? Regards Peter
zen_grasshopper
The loaded chamber indicator is on the new style extractor. The extractor is made to sit flush with the slide when a round is not in the chamber, but when a round is in the chamber it sticks out a little bit so you can feel it with your hand. Not really all that practical on a gaming gun, but on a duty gun it is sometimes helpful. Let's say you a police officer in pursuit of a suspect that is armed, and you are in deep woods or a dark building. Even though you probably have a round in the chamber, you would like to double check and be re-assured. Instead of turning on your flashlight (and giving away your position) to perform a press check, you can run your trigger finger up a few centimeters higher and feel the protrusion, thus knowing the weapon is hot. It looks like I can't post a picture of the difference in extractors here, but if you would like give me your email and I can send one to you. BTW, at 6'4" and 225lbs. I am anything but LITTLE!
