mac266
It seems that Caspian's .40 S&W hi-capacity (i.e. double stack) magazines are looming on the very near horizon. I'm drooling, I must admit. Are there any disadvantages to using this frame as opposed to another hi-cap 1911 frame for a Limited gun build?
Alan Meek
No disadvantage, The Caspian Hi-Cap might be a little heavier than a S_I other than that no real difference in the build aspect. How it feels in your hand is probably the biggest difference Alan
Front Man
You have to use their part kit. For example if you had your heart set on a different grip safety your out of luck same with triggers too. But the parts in the parts kit are fine. Magazine capacity may be an issue too but search the forum, TT had tons of good mag info. I think a builder can keep tolerances a little tighter with an S_I. I need a new frame for my Open Caspain and want to turn my old frame into a Limited because of scope mounting issues. Shoot both frames if possible; they do feel different!
