bountyhunter
I need to add the two holes in the top strap on one of my old style K-frames to mount a regular scope mount (which uses the three holes on the new model K frames). Anybody know: What thread and size are the holes supposed to be? What drill size to drill the top strap before tapping? Thanks
Mooney
Try asking similar in the revolver forum (if you haven't already), somebody there probably has the answer or can point ya in the right direction.... Yep, already went there...right on! (edited for second thought) Edited March 18, 2007 by Mooney

(edited for second thought) The revolver guys told me to come here! It's OK, I am sure it's a 6-48 tap, just not sure about the drill size. #31 has been bid, also heard #33. Jaxshooter
According to my Brownells Screw Checker the 6-48 is a # 28 drill and a #31 tap. I would call Brownells Tech Help and verify that before you drill it.
