PracTac007
I'm new to the forums and was looking for some assistance. I was wondering if anyone is able to give me a simple yet detailed explanation of how to change the O ring(s) in my Remington 11-87 semi-auto shot gun. I just purchased it used and its my first semi-auto shotgun so I'm not that familiar with it. The manual is a little unclear. I've been told that I'll have to change the O ring(s) somewhere around every 500 rounds or so to keep it operating smoothly. I just haven't been able to find any clear cut instructions on how to do that. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks. kmca
You can download a manual from the following site: http://www.remington.com/pdfs/om/om_11001187.pdf Good Luck, Keith
BBunin
Every 500 rounds? Horsepuckey! That's every one or two Trap shoots!. Just keep a spare in the gun case and replace it when it breaks every 2-3 years.
PracTac007
Thanks Keith, but I already have a copy. Could you go so far as to tell me which page or section in this manual specifically refers to changing the O-ring as part of basic maintenance? kmca
Page 15 It's easier to do than to explain 1. Make sure it's empty 2. Lock the bolt open 3. Unscrew the magazine cap 4. Slide the forearm off 5. Pick the gas cylinder collar up off the floor 6. Slide the barrel off 7. There's the o-ring. PracTac007
Thanks again Keith. I'm shooting a shotgun match this weekend and will change the O-ring after the shoot. I'll let you know how it goes.
