Patrick Sweeney
Our club is hosting the State 3-gun, June 7 & 8, 2003. Seven stages minimum, 180 rounds, maybe slugs, no buckshot, all the fun we can generate. No prize table, only trophies. Limited to 90 shooters. Next year we'll strive for loot, but for the first match we want to get the experience, prove we can deliver, and then make it bigger. Special awards: Iron Mike, .308 rifle, 12 Ga shotgun, .major pistol, all iron sights, no ports or comps. Also, Composite, which is any one gun Open, for those with optics on their tactical rifles. Pistol caliber carbines are kosher for rifle, scored Minor. http://www.livingstongunclub.org Right near Brighton, MI. Between Detroit and Lansing. John Thompson
I'm going! Patrick, My new AR may not have been delivered yet. How far will the longest rifle target be? My Kel Tech sub 2000 is fun but after 50yrds Will I need to borrow an AR to be competitive?
Patrick Sweeney
Our "long" range is 100 yards. We make up for the short distance by being cruel and adding no-shoots. We keep if fast by adding the occasional 20 yard hoser rifle stage. We have had competitors do well with 9mm carbines out ot 100 yards, but you have to have an accurate one, and a solid zero. John Thompson
I'm glad I asked. I took the Kel tec out to see to assure myself: crappy group with a jam. I cancelled my RR AR order and picked a up Bushmaster a couple of hours ago. I hope I ge to shoot this thing enough to make it worth the cost. Patrick Sweeney
We have t restrain our stage designers form putting in too much shooting. I think the high-water mark was a regular monthly club match (handgun, 5 stages) that had 150+ rounds.
