Carlos
As far as the "click-bang-click" issue- make sure you ONLY use the world's most reliable primer: Federal. And above all, avoid CCI. WAY too many duds.
ffl
My Brother and I will be shooting the IRC and he is looking for a load to use in his 3" 38 spl that will make the 120 pf.
Steelshooter
While this can be done, it is not as easy as it would seem. I worked with a friends 3" M13 and the wifes 4" 586 and it took +P loads with the 158 grain bullet to make the 120 pf with the 3". It is much easier on the reloader and the shooter if you opt for the ICORE approved Federal 158 loads. You get a pass on the chrono no matter what the pf. If you buy it on sale at Midway or other vendors the price is reasonable and you will get to keep the once fired brass for reloading. A curious thing, 2 years later, once both guns were hard chromed, the same loads wouldn't make the 120pf and as I was over published max to begin with, we elected to have my wife shoot the Federals at last years ICORE, she had no ammo related problems during the match, and I think the pf was 118 from her 4" hard chromed 586. Good luck
