Merlin Orr
I want to try loading .308 on an RL1050. Anyone here tried this. How did it work? I have a 550 set up in large primer but have an extra RL that I will use if it works as well or better. Comments?
Huston in Austin
The former owner of Alabama Ammo used to load match ammo for one of his customers on a RL1050. It was for an M-1A so it didn't have the long OAL of a bolt action rifle. I think if you are loading for an auto loader it would work, as long as all the case prep was done before hand. If you are loading for MOR, I think you need a Super 1050.
Merlin Orr
I just built a new gun with very little freebore. Using 168 SMKs loaded to 2.585 puts the SMK on the lands. I did not consider the extra length over factory might be just that much too long....
