Peter K
I´d like to use the 124 grs. TMJ Speer in my Open SVI (.38 Super Auto) but I don´t know if this plated bullet (it´s not a jacketed bullet!) will work in the gun. I´ve heard that copper plated bullets often make problems in compensated guns but I´d like to use the Speer because I can get a lot of them cheap. So, would you recommend the Speer in a compensated gun or not?

BSeevers
At major velocities I think jacketed only and since you can use other cheap 9mm bullets why not? Unless you are getting the Speer real cheap/free but I still wouldn't use them. USPSA Major is 1330 fps Now IPSC is 1290 fps but ain't really too much different. Its a possibility but I would buy 2 thousand and try them before committing to a lot Don't forget exposed lead bases will also foul your comp faster. blackdragon
If I had ten bucks for everyone ( That is shooting plated bullets) that called me saying " Your brass is making my bullets key hole" I could spend a few hours in Glitter Gulch! ipscbob
In reasonable quantities, Montana Golds are pretty cheap. I wouldn't try to cut corners here at all.
