New Zealand are of course the current and future holders of the Americas Cup.

In response to a recent Ad for topmen on the boat Team NZ an old bloke turned up for an interview, now the interviewer was a bit taken back because he had a wooden leg, a hook inplace of his right hand and an eye patch over one eye.

Being an equal opportunity employer the interviewer went ahead with the usual questions and then asked about the wooden leg,,

"Arr weel sur it were off the Australian Bight it were, a pirate cannon ball took it clean off it did"

"Well what about the hand" asked the interviewer.

"Arr weel sur it were the China sea it were, a sword fight with pirates and a cutlas took it clean off it did"

"well bugger me" said the interviewer "What about the eye"

"Arr weel sur a big storm it were in the Tasman sea and we had all the rigging off and were battened down and I came up on deck and looked up at the top of the mast and there were a seagull",,,,

"My god man, do you mean to tell me that a seagull did that to your eye",,,,

"Arr weel sur not exactly you see it were the first day I wore me hook".
