First match w/ the X Performance

I shot my first match yesterday w/ the X Performance. As much dry firing as I have done, and maybe 200 rnds of live fire practice,  the surprising thing is that I often forgot about the thumb rest. Even w/o it, the extra weight reducing the muzzle rise is definitely noticeable. I used my modified golf ball grip. Took the checkering down to smooth for the top 1/2 inch or so and added some skateboard tape to fill in below the grip. This kind of works but I sure hope LOK does a full length grip version. I had not been impressed w/ the trigger as it came so it has LTT NP3 trigger bar, NP3 hammer, LTT 11# spring, short reach trigger, and a diy smoothed hammer spring strut. It has been maybe 3 years since I shot a 92 w/ a stock type trigger bar. The XP bar reduces reset reasonably but does not give the extra long DA hammer swing that Wilson and LTT bars do. The original DA trigger pull was pretty good but I figured out why that was. If you move the hammer say 8/10 distance (compared to than Wilson/LTT) then of course the DA pull will be lighter.

I still don't like the extended and lower beavertail which is why I used the short reach trigger. It is also making getting to the mag release button harder so I sanded away a bit of a channel in the left side grip. The grip is already thin so I can't do as much thinning as I would like. Sanding helped but my M9A1 is better.

In the second pic you can also see how I modded the left side safety lever. Although currently I am not using it, (I shoot in SSP so first shot is DA) the lever is too high for me. So I ground away some metal. It sticks out the same distance but now the part that my thumb hits is just a thin shelf so it effectively lowered it maybe 3-4mm. I was very concerned about lowering the hammer /w my offhand thumb and finger but it isn't a problem. But do any of you know if there is a non adjustable rear sight available? I don't like the overhang of the current sight but the dovetail is one more dang version now in use on B92s. Overall I like the gun but, especially since I am shooting it in DA, I am not sure I would buy it again.
